A group of teenagers drove to a rural field outside the city for a bonfire and late-night exploring. After sleeping in their trucks they heard thuds in the night and woke to find large wiped areas and huge handprints on fogged windows plus oversized footprints around the vehicles. No one admitted a prank and nothing was seen directly.

Another local man went to the same field a week later and saw the same light, but positioned farther back toward the hill line. He plotted prior viewers' positions as a near-perfect triangle and concluded it was the same non-manmade object in a different part of the field.

An elk hunter in knee-deep snow came across fresh barefoot-like tracks heading uphill and followed them thinking a lost hunter might be in trouble. He was struck by the long stride uphill. Near the top the tracks went over a fallen log without dislodging snow from it, which frightened him, and he returned to his vehicle and left.

The relative called the witness to shore and pointed out a figure on a clear-cut hillside across the river near a previously visited stump, which the witness viewed with binoculars. The figure reportedly stood watching for about 20 minutes with only slight swaying before turning and walking over the ridge out of sight.

A hunter driving along the main through-road reportedly saw a BF cross the road less than 100 yards ahead and continue down the mountain. The account was relayed by a local historian to the visitors during a discussion about renting the ranger station, with the original event dated to fall in the early 1980s.
