Sasquatch sighting in Washington (1992)
A prospector reportedly found a dead creature in a mountain campsite area in 1992 and called the forest service. The story was written up in the local paper and then went cold. The campground where it was found closed afterward and never reopened.
Historical account (1959)
The hikers were said to have written about strange lights in the sky on the night they died, and people in the surrounding area also reported objects. Other hikers about thirty miles away reported three strange orbs over the mountain, which weather observers also noted. One hiker was said to have photographed something in the sky.
Tracks (1959)
Nine experienced student hikers camped on the slope of Dead Mountain during a certification trek and rushed out of their tent at night into severe cold in minimal clothing. Searchers later found the tent cut open with belongings inside and lines of footprints leading toward the woods. Five bodies were found between camp and forest and four more buried under deep snow in a ravine with severe fractures and missing soft tissue. Authorities attributed the deaths to an unknown compelling force and closed access to the area.
Property disturbance in Kentucky (1950)
The guest said research indicated that in the 1950s a creature raided local livestock, prompting the sheriff to form a posse. The posse chased it around the county but never found it.
Chatter (1924)
A man was reportedly held captive for six days in the early twentieth century in coastal Canada. During captivity he reported hearing the captors chattering amongst themselves back and forth. The account was later documented in a book by a well-known researcher.

A woman saw a four-foot object moving along a rear fence and fetched a neighbor, who shot it with a shotgun and saw it drop. When approached, it jumped to hind legs and chased the shooter back into the house, then left toward another town. Strange footprints were later reported nearby.

A newspaper article described a place called Devil's Hole in lonely woods where a thick-bodied, long-armed hairy half-beast called the Gorilla Moron was said to haunt. It was claimed to have attacked dozens of women within a year, leaving many unconscious. The specific attack on two student nurses detailed in the same article was stated by the reteller to have been by human muggers, separate from the hairy-figure reports.

In 1918 a boy was reportedly abducted near the pond. Community members pursued, recovered the boy, who was scratched up, and captured the creature. The teller notes the creature did not seem intent on harming the boy and describes it as acting lonely rather than aggressive.

Local observers reported red lights seen nightly just above the horizon. The lights were said to appear at fixed evening times and the information was attributed to a longtime local resident.

Residents reported a hair-covered animal sometimes upright and sometimes moving on all fours at racehorse speed with a leaping stride. Heavy steel bear traps set and wired to an oak were found sprung with bait eaten, wire snapped, ground torn, and traps dragged rods away. Later explanations blaming a dog or disguised man were followed by continued reports.

Four men returning home were accosted by a long-haired gorilla-like wild man and fought it to the ground, binding its wrists. It freed itself, climbed a tree with cat-like agility, then later came down and fought the two watchers, badly biting and scratching one and tearing clothing before disappearing.

A man riding a bicycle at night was attacked by a gorilla that threw him from the machine and struck him with a fist. He fired a revolver twice and escaped to a nearby town, arriving unable to speak with torn clothing and a head wound. A large posse formed to capture the animal.
