The witness and a spouse were collecting firewood on a logging road in the late afternoon when they heard a loud two-toned whooping call from one side, answered by a higher-pitched response from the opposite side. The calls continued back and forth for about a minute in what sounded like communication, while other forest sounds went silent. After the sounds stopped abruptly, normal woods sounds gradually returned several minutes later.

The witness was in the process of buying a vacant house and found a line of large barefoot-like impressions in snow and mud along the side of the garage toward the backyard. The prints showed toes, deep toe depression and a short stride close to the building, and were photographed with the witness's shoe for scale. A companion of the reporter photographed a long line of large footprints in deep snow. The trackway was reported to run about a half mile from across a lake, ashore around a cabin and through woods to a road where it disappeared. Individual prints were described as very large with clearly visible toe indentations.

On a night trip in early March 2013, the witness and three companions stopped in the woods around 2:30 a.m. after hearing a loud moaning sound. The witness shone a light downhill and saw a head with two closely spaced eyes about 40 feet away and 5 to 6 feet off the ground. The eyes stared for about 45 seconds before sidestepping behind a tree, and a quick search found nothing and no tracks.

Just before sunrise in March 2013, the witness was on the side of the road and saw a tall black figure in the rear-view mirror pass behind the vehicle and cross the road in three strides. The witness was sitting in a vehicle near a levee on the east Peoria side of the river in the morning. A tan, hair-covered figure was seen running along the top of the levee about 100 yards away for 5 to 6 seconds. The figure moved very fast with bent legs in fluid motion, its head steady and down. The witness emphasized its remarkable speed.

A few nights later both were awakened by a similar house-shaking slam followed by a loud deep growl. They could not explain how an animal could strike with such force and initially wondered about a bear.

Four women driving south on Patricks Point Road near Trinidad in the late afternoon watched a very tall, dark figure walk across the road in front of their car. The figure was described as solid black head to toe, trim with broad shoulders and arms reaching near the knees, moving with a purposeful stride from forested land on one side into thick brush with no visible trail on the other. The occupants were struck by its height, smoothness, and silhouette appearance without visible face or clothing lines, and afterward wondered if it had been a Bigfoot.

The witness was out walking dogs at night when she heard an unfamiliar loud sound twice from a distance. She said it resembled the calls used by investigators on a television show about Bigfoot and did not resemble familiar local animal noises. She explicitly stated she did not see anything.

He heard three deliberate wood-on-wood knocks to the north, followed immediately by a bottle-on-metal clattering sound from a closer area to the south. Around 3:30 a.m. the witness stepped onto the back patio and saw a tall muscular figure walking through a neighbor's yard toward nearby trees. The witness drove into a swamp conservation area and spent time making loud vocal noises on a road near parked logging equipment. Something in the adjacent woods approached to within about 20 yards, making heavy bipedal footsteps and loud thrashing in reeds and brush without becoming visible. The witness retreated to the car, repositioned it, and tried for about an hour to elicit further response, later hearing a growl and movement alongside and then away.

Two people driving home separately at night each reported seeing a large shadowy figure by the highway slip into the woods about a half-mile from home. They compared notes after arriving home and realized both had seen the same thing, but could provide no details beyond its large size and shadowy appearance. The sighting occurred two days after a bizarre shrieking noise had been heard in the yard.
