The witness drove into a bottom field at night to look for raccoons and swept the treeline with truck headlights. At about 75 yards he saw a large dark figure walk through the field toward the creek, pause to stare at him, then stride quickly into the woods. The sighting lasted seconds and his hound whined during it.

Large wet footprints crossing road north to south, five in a line
Measurements: 5 prints
Cell-phone photos of those prints, dark and hard to make out and later deemed unusable
An investigator spoke with the witness by phone and met him at the site the next day, finding the reported prints gone and noting the terrain.
