Elk hunters find series of tracks in Mt. Zirkel Wilderness
The witness was elk hunting on horseback in fresh snow and found a human-like trackway crossing near camp with large four-toed prints. He showed the tracks to others in camp and followed them uphill about half a mile through timber. His horse became increasingly nervous sniffing the tracks and refused to continue in blow-downs, so he skirted the timber, found no exit tracks, and gave up the follow.

Home alone midday, the witness saw an old-man-like figure crawl from bushes into the backyard, sniff the air, and approach the house while making strange noises. He confronted it with an unloaded shotgun from the deck until it turned and crawled back into the brush on a trail.

The guest's sister and a friend were walking in woods behind a neighbor's house when a tall pale gray human-like figure emerged from behind a tree and sprinted toward them. They ran home through brambles, arriving torn, scratched, and upset, and stopped returning to that area.

Exhausted while driving home after midnight, the witness felt compelled to look and saw a lean naked gray human-like figure with an elongated face and very long fingers standing feet from the road staring at him. He sped away. Friends later mocked him when no trace was found.

The guest's sister and her friend saw a tall stocky silhouette watching them from the edge of the woods by cattle fields while on a trampoline at night. They froze, then fled inside. The next day large footprints were found from the woods to the house and muddy handprints on a sliding door.

While set up in a field at night in a different game land area, the witness saw the entire swampy area to his side illuminated by a soft blue glow with no apparent source or shadows. He watched about an hour while feeling he should ignore it. A later return under similar conditions showed no glow.

The witness followed a trail to a rock face at dusk, heard a single loud wood knock, then glimpsed a large bipedal figure moving between trees and heard crunching footsteps alongside him. Trapped between creek brush and woods, he caught its face leaning around a tree in his spotlight. He then crashed through thorns, crossed the creek, and reached the road.

While hidden in brush near a field above the creek, the witness noticed a small coin-sized blue light floating a short distance in front of him. It bobbed between trees for about ten feet then vanished behind a tree and did not reappear.

The witness set up after sundown on a public trail by a creek to call raccoon. He felt watched, heard patting sounds on the water, then saw an arm-like silhouette slip back into darkness. He left for his car, drove to a fishery lot, had a stone land at his feet, and fled.

In October 1996 the witness found huge footprints under snow with a very large stride that could not be duplicated and did not appear to be elk or deer tracks.
