The witness explored a clearcut in Coos County Forest looking for hiking routes and found a bare footprint larger than his boot with visible toes. After rain washed the area, he returned and found additional larger and smaller impressions with a roughly six-foot stride, and later found similar long impressions on harder ground nearby. On a return visit he also heard repeated short whistle-like sounds receding from the creek area but saw no source.

On an August evening while rock hounding in Sunshine Valley, the witness, seated in a truck with a companion, saw a hairy bipedal figure about 200 yards ahead cross the road in a few unhurried steps without looking toward them. The figure was described as muscular yet slender with long arms and dark to reddish-brown hair. The forest had gone quiet beforehand, the witness was stunned and unable to speak, then left the area.

The witness was driving on private land at dusk after plowing fields when a large black hairy human-like creature crossed the road less than 20 feet ahead, moving from the river side while maintaining eye contact. The witness had a 12 by 24 foot cement pad poured for a new dog kennel and then was out of town for the weekend. Between Friday evening and Saturday late afternoon, something left a very large footprint in the middle of the wet cement, which then hardened permanently. The witness was visiting a friend's house near Colton when strange birdlike noises were heard from the treeline overnight. Five other people joined the witness to listen and agreed the sounds were unfamiliar, and shining a light toward the closest sounds made them stop temporarily. The noises continued until shortly before dawn. In the morning, possible unfamiliar tracks and a trail of pushed-down grass with long strides were found in a field behind a stream.

The witness was grading a remote forest road around noon when he spotted a large hairy creature about 200 yards ahead standing by the road and looking at him. After watching for about a minute, the creature crossed the road in three steps and disappeared into the woods. The witness drove to the crossing point and found large human-like footprints and broken branches, left food and water, and found them untouched on his return pass.

Alarmed, the group packed under guard and drove out, hearing the howls again from about a mile behind them. They later interpreted the incident as possibly involving three large communicating beings.

Late at night a resident went onto the porch after the outside dog became highly agitated and heard continuous loud shrieking screams, which the spouse also heard. The next morning footprints were found in deep snow leading across a field toward the forest with long strides, and a second set was reported to join the first in the woods. Photographs of the tracks were said to have been taken.
