The witness was driving past a flooded rice field in daylight when she noticed an unusual figure, turned around, and watched a huge hair-covered biped repeatedly bending over as if searching mud or shallow water. She photographed it through her car window, honked, and saw it leave. Officers later found large humanlike tracks in the identified area leading toward adjacent woods.

The witness stopped and took several pictures through a car window; two images were reported to have come out, one showing approach and one showing departure. Film was later scanned and microscopically examined with no significant additional detail reported.
