Account
The guest, his wife and his sister camped and elk-hunted in the southern Elliott for nine days. Almost every day and night they heard knocks, brush movement and other noises, saw elk bunched defensively, saw unblinking widely spaced reflective eyes at close range, and saw a dark figure moving through brush. On the final night an owl-like call was followed by a yip and an extremely loud deep roar, after which they packed and drove out immediately, returning a week later for the camper.
