Over nine nights in late August 2019, three campers heard nightly knocks, brush running, and ripping sounds. On a daytime elk stalk the sister heard three directional knocks and saw a black hairy figure following the hunters. Later nights brought close yellow-green eyeshine that vanished silently and a sequence of owl, coyote yip, and a chest-shaking roar, after which they abandoned the camper for a week.
