Loud wood knocks heard near abandonned campground 35 miles east of Bristol
The witness was alone at an abandoned campground at night to photograph fireflies. They heard two loud single wood knocks about 45 minutes apart coming from the woods ahead/southwest, with no other animal sounds, footsteps, or odor. Unable to explain the sound, the witness packed up and left.

The witness and a friend camped in a hollow below the family home and jokingly made tree knocks and whoops. Knocks and ape-like whoops answered from multiple ridges and appeared to converse. Later something large circled camp, rushed in, stepped onto the tent tarp, made gorilla-like huffs above the tent, then left, prompting them to flee to the house and return next morning.

The witness was on the back porch at home around 8 p.m. when a tree-knock-like sound was heard from the woods to the northeast. About five minutes later a low rumble rising into a deep whoop-like sound was heard from the same general area. The witness went inside and turned off the exterior lights. A military controller and about 20 soldiers conducting multi-day field training heard unexplained footsteps around their concealed position on several occasions and later heard several loud wood-on-wood knocks from a direction where no troops were located. The unit checked team positions verbally and visually and investigated but found no source. That evening they heard a radio report of a separate sighting elsewhere on the installation.

He returned the next day to photograph suspected footprints and hair found on a limb.
