A family home in Kentucky was terrorized in 1975 by tall hairy creatures over an extended period. Witnesses described seeing a figure watching from a gully, hearing limbs breaking, finding livestock killed, and seeing a figure under a light and exiting a barn. Fear became so intense the father prepared to burn the house with the family inside rather than risk an attack.
Man recalls family experiencing possible intimidation near Ann Arbor
In late July 1974 the witness walked with his parents and dog south along a trail toward thick woods. As they walked they heard loud cracks, pops and snaps from the treeline that seemed to parallel their movement, smelled rotten garbage, and the dog became fearful. Near the site of a previously found stick shelter they heard a tree snap and crash nearby, then turned back while snapping sounds seemed to follow them to the clearing.

Citing a report on the BFRO website, the guest said a police officer walking with friends in the same area in the mid-1970s was screamed at from the woods. The group heard thick popple slashings breaking but could not see what was making the sound.
Memory of a possible encounter as young girls riding horses at night near the Coralville Reservoir
Four girls were riding horses on a moonlit night when their horses stopped and focused on a hilltop ahead. They heard a loud guttural growl mixed with vowel-like sounds and wood snapping, which frightened them. They galloped back to the farm where they were staying. The next morning they found a small wooden corral they had built on that hilltop broken apart.
Scream in Oklahoma (1973)
The witness's father as a teenager went to a river with his older brother, younger sister, and the brother's girlfriend near dark. Something across the river crashed through brush like a heavy animal, then yelled, screamed, broke branches and pushed things over. The group fled in a vehicle, realized they left the youngest sister, drove back and found her running up the road screaming.
Family camping at Lake Somerville is menaced by a loud screaming creature
The witness and relatives were camped overnight when a foul stench filled the air and an extremely loud scream beginning as a growl was heard. The dog hid, and rounds fired into the air temporarily drove the source away, but it returned repeatedly until dawn despite a large fire. Nothing was ever seen and no unusual tracks were found, though a nearby stand of broken saplings carried the same odor.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. Neither reported seeing anything.
Structure or nest near Willow River, Minnesota (1972)
While taking part in deer-drive pushes in woods across from the farmhouse, the witness noticed bent-over trees, hoop-like structures, and wood piled like teepees. He did not recognize significance at the time and only recalled them later after seeing similar structure reports.
Possible nest nest and food remains found by retired soldier near the Sandy River
In mid-summer 1970 the witness was driving along the Sandy River looking for a place to target shoot when he found saplings snapped off with the tops formed into a large bedding area. Nearby were several freshly gutted rabbits, a death-like smell, and unusually silent woods. He left to find a ranger station and returned with a ranger who photographed the site, after which both described themselves as becoming believers.

While throwing a football alone at night, the witness noticed a small head with pointed ears peeking from behind tall hedge bushes and threw the ball toward it after it repeatedly ducked. Later that same night while sleeping near a low bedroom window, a much larger hairy face appeared at the glass, made eye contact, shifted its eyes, wrinkled its brow and opened a wide mouth showing pointed teeth. The witness fled to a parent's room while heavy pacing was felt and heard around the house, then police were called but found nothing. The next morning the witness found large prints around windows and garden, recalled repeated early-morning howls, a growl with a branch breaking, grunting in the basement and a violently shaking backyard tree.
Footsteps in Tennessee (1970)
The guest described leaving a brother's farm in the evening and taking a tractor road through dark woods to avoid being driven back. Something paced the guest at a distance, pushed down fences where the guest crossed gates, then followed very close with extremely heavy footsteps that stopped when the guest stopped. After reaching pasture and pavement the sounds continued from the treeline, a tree was heard falling, and chains were heard beating at an abandoned station before the guest ran to a store.
Vocalization (1970)
A coworker told the witness about a mid-1970s horseback trip when loud screaming and roaring circled the camp overnight, shook trees, threw rocks and broke limbs while the horses reacted.
Sasquatch sighting in Kentucky (1969)
Two lifelong friends were target shooting with small-caliber rifles along a river while a nearby reservoir was filling and flooding caves. After one rifle jammed, they returned to their car when they heard limbs snapping and saw small trees swaying and breaking. They circled back to the riverbank clearing and came face to face with a hair-covered creature standing on a deadfall, which one of them shot multiple times in the chest. The creature fell silent, then revived and ran one way while the two men fled the other, later tracking it and sparking local monster lore.

Two companions were hiking a faint trail in late afternoon to scout a fishing spot for the next morning. From a short distance ahead they heard an extremely loud, high-pitched scream that continued without pause for minutes. As they retreated, trees were heard and seen breaking and falling along a nearby ridge as the unseen source moved parallel to them. They never saw the source and left the area without returning.
Youths in Summer Camp have noisy nighttime experience
The witness was sleeping in a cabin during a summer camp session when loud nighttime noises caused an uproar. A cabin-mate reportedly looked out and described multiple large, hairy, human-like figures near the water tower and cabins. The next morning the witness saw extensive human-like footprints, a large uprooted tree, and vegetation pulled from the lake. Campers were walked around the perimeter to view the traces and were sent home early.
Friends hear late night scream near Garberville
After returning late from a dance, three people sitting indoors heard a loud wailing cry from bluffs across the road that rose in pitch and lasted several minutes. Frightened, they stayed inside with doors locked for the night. The next morning two of them found a freshly cleared, trampled area on the blufftop where trees had been pulled from the ground, with a strong smell but no tracks due to hard ground.
Bowhunter and wife abandon deer when threatened by large, unseen animal
The witness and spouse were bow hunting in timber when something unseen followed them, starting and stopping as they moved. After the witness shot a deer, the follower vocalized loudly and thrashed brush and trees while pursuing them downhill. The pair abandoned the deer and left the timber, with the follower continuing to vocalize behind them to the timber edge.
Teen has daytime sighting near Myers Flat
The witness was hunting with two friends and hid alone in berry bushes to startle them. While waiting, the witness smelled a strong odor and saw a large hairy biped stand up nearby and walk away through thick brush, hearing snapping and leaf crunch as it left. The witness ran to the friends and later returned with them to find a squatted feeding spot and small broken trees.
Screams and stalking at a Girl Scout camp 13 miles west of Dubuque
In the summer of 1959 the witness was working as a counselor at a wooded Girl Scout camp. Over roughly two weeks, staff repeatedly heard footsteps moving through the tent area after dark, saw a dark figure near a hut, and found a director's tent ransacked, with deputies searching each day without finding anyone. On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.

The witness reported small trees twisted together in various places and pine branches broken off and stacked neatly on a trail in mid-January 2007.
