Two siblings riding in the back of a pickup truck in the summer of 1970 reported seeing a tall, dark-haired figure on a brushy hillside beside the road. They said they first mistook it for a tall tree stump, then watched it walk downhill in a few steps, take a long step across a roadside ditch, and stop in the middle of the road to turn and look at their truck as they drove away. The figure was described as covered in long dark brown hair with a lighter patch on the chest and red eyes.

Two officers responding to a late-night prowler call encountered a tall dark hair-covered biped. The officers watched it cross the wide street in three strides without running, and tracking dogs lost its scent at the marsh.

The witness was walking alone on a spring morning near Scenic, Washington when an extremely loud sound was heard three times from about half a block away near old railroad bunkhouses. The sound was described as starting like a roar and rising to a shrill pitch, repeated with short pauses. The witness did not see the source and could not identify it as any known local animal.

The witness and a companion backpacked about a mile from a logging road to the Patterson-Gimlin film site at Bluff Creek during spring break. After days of silence, they camped near a sandbar and at night a heavy animal approached; the witness shone a light and saw red eyes about eight feet up, then the creature circled out of sight for about 45 minutes and threw a face-sized rock toward them. The next morning they found large depressions, then hiked out along the creek feeling followed, later hearing a loud crash and a low gurgling whistle near the logging-road spur.

In late spring 1970, two people sightseeing by car on Highway 441 near the Tennessee-North Carolina state line claimed a tall, slender hair-covered biped crossed the road in front of them. The witnesses estimated its height at about seven feet and noted clean straight walnut-brown hair, long arms, and lack of a visible neck.

When the witness was about 4 or 5 years old and living near farm and corn fields, the witness saw something described as a big monkey walking across the road. The witness ran into the house very upset and scared. A relative later confirmed the child had run in upset that day reporting a big monkey crossing the road.

The witness, then a child, got up alone in the early morning to get a drink in a dark house. While returning from the kitchen, the witness looked out the large living-room window and saw a large Bigfoot walking across the yard from right to left. The creature briefly turned its head toward the witness, after which the witness fled to bed and reported no further sight or sound.

The witness drove friends to a mountain top overlooking Gross Reservoir to show the view. While walking toward the overlook edge, the witness noticed large human-like footprint tracks in snow with a 4-5 foot stride. The companions also saw the tracks but were skeptical they were sasquatch tracks. No creature was seen in this event.

As a child in winter the witness and a friend heard a loud noise and watched a tall dark hairy figure step over a fence, pass behind a fallen tree, approach then turn uphill into other woods. They followed barefoot tracks into the next woods and found several stacked rock piles containing dead cats, then left.

Three Sisters Wilderness, North Mathieu Lake - Man camping alone hears footsteps
The witness was camping alone in a tent on the northeast corner of North Mathieu Lake. Around 4 a.m. he awoke to loud bipedal footsteps circling his tent, with a tent guy rope briefly touched, and his shouts got no answer until blowing a whistle caused the sounds to retreat to the north. In morning light he found a very large deep toed footprint near his tent plus several fainter prints nearby, and he cut his trip short.

As a child the guest heard area talk of Bigfoot sightings. Weeks later a loud bang shook his elevated bedroom. Next morning he found a large muddy bare footprint high on the house wall as if something kicked it.

Parents did not believe them, and the witness later concluded it was Bigfoot that meant no harm.
