The witness reports finding tracks in soft soil at the edge of a freshwater lake in early October 1999, first a single set and then about two weeks later three sets of different sizes. The tracks were where large-leafed underwater plants were growing, and the plants appeared stripped from the water where the tracks were found. While wading along the flooded shoreline the day after hiking in, they found fresh, huge human-like footprints in a sandy area that led west into the swamp. The prints were described as 14-15 inches long, narrow for their length, with a running stride and deep depressions. They recorded the prints and surrounding swamp with a video camera.

The witness stopped on a bridge over a washed-out creek to videotape the creek bed while sightseeing. While filming he heard heavy wood-on-wood strikes from the left answered from the right at varying intervals, which he verified was not an echo. Feeling anxious, he returned to his idling vehicle and left, and a relative later reviewed the tape where the beats were faintly audible and recorded an interview with the witness that evening.

A television crew driving a large RV on a narrow forest road at dusk in rain spotted a figure ahead and filmed it as it walked bipedally across the road in front of them, illuminated by headlights, before disappearing behind a tree. After noticing droppings in the road, they found a trail of large bare human-like footprints with five toes leading up a bank. They saw a tall hair-covered figure standing just beyond a six-foot fence staring at them. After a few seconds they ran back inside frightened.
