Tracks and feces found in freshly turned field
While preparing a field for planting, workers found large five-toed tracks and two very large cylindrical feces in a freshly plowed field. The tracks led from a grassy area onto a dirt road, into the field where the maker appeared to squat, dig up and eat turtle eggs, then continued into bordering woods. The reporter photographed the sign with a yardstick, made left and right foot casts, and collected fecal and eggshell samples for examination.

A group of about 15 people discovered two sets of large footprints in an open sandy area among pine trees and followed them for roughly 800 to 1,000 feet without seeing the animals. Along the way they noticed small trees broken off high above the ground, then found a single very large right footprint in a soft spot in the road. Late at night the witness stepped outside to retrieve a dog and noticed an extremely strong body-odor smell. The witness then saw a long reddish-haired creature squatting motionless near the corner of the house without looking toward them. The witness ran inside to get family members, but by the time they came outside the creature was gone although the strong odor still filled the yard.

The witness was driving slowly looking for a fishing spot in mid-afternoon when an animal crossed the road almost in front of the truck. He saw only its back, one arm, and coned head for a few seconds before it disappeared into riverside foliage. After turning around he found a couple of large footprints with a long stride. He described the animal as over seven feet tall, heavily built, with long muscular arms and no visible neck.

They hid in their tent, and in the middle of the night the witness heard unintelligible deep speech-like talking very close outside. In January 2003 a relative was chopping wood near the woods edge in the early evening when he noticed a large hairy figure a short distance away, visible from the waist up through a clearing. He froze, dropped the wood, and fled into the house, arriving badly shaken and initially unable to speak before stating he had seen Bigfoot.
