Caribou hunters find footprints near Kuujjuaq.

A group of about 15 people discovered two sets of large footprints in an open sandy area among pine trees and followed them for roughly 800 to 1,000 feet without seeing the animals. A witness later gave measurements of about 15 by 5 inches for the larger prints and 10 by 4 inches for the smaller. The group also reported finding fine light-brown hair on a tree and taking photos of the prints, though the photos were not available for the report.

Two sets of footprints traceable about 800 to 1000 feet in open area near trees in lichen and sand.
Measurements: larger 15 inches long and 5 inches wide; smaller 10 inches long and 4 inches wide; originally described as size 20 to 24 and size 10
Very fine light brown hair found on a tree where the track-maker seemed to have passed; no analysis reported.
Pictures taken of the footprints by someone in the group but copies were unavailable for the report.
An investigator spoke with a witness by phone and documented footprint details and setting.
