Over about four years the household noticed odd sounds, smells and disturbances around their wooded Texas property. They heard voice-like calls, hoots, growls and repeated wood knocks, found scat, stripped and snapped trees, and missing bait. A wide bare footprint with a deep heel was later found in a raised garden bed after crops were taken, though neither person ever saw an animal.

The witness was camping with her family at a family cabin site near Dorrington. Around 2:30 a.m. she heard unfamiliar loud, smooth vocalizations and woke her husband, and the two listened together for an hour or more. The sounds included rising calls and rising-then-falling calls, sometimes seeming nearer and sometimes farther, estimated from a quarter to a mile away to the south. No animal was seen, and a scat pile noted behind the cabin was thought by her husband to be from a bear.

The witness was asleep at home when loud moaning and howling outside the open bedroom window woke her. The sounds shifted from distress-like cries to very deep angry growls. A pet dog barked from below, then something approached the garage area, growled deeply, and struck the building, after which the dog fell silent. On August 24 at dusk the witness was preparing dinner at a forest-edge campsite when a very loud ascending swooping cry came from the hillside above, followed by several higher shrieks. The witness felt watched during dinner and again when returning to the same spot two nights later, though nothing further was heard. After dark they repeatedly heard a childlike crying sound from a nearby ridge, had small river stones tossed into camp, and later heard loud knocks alternating with the cries. At daylight they hiked out, noticing concentrated scat and disturbed ground near oak trees, and concluded the activity was not from a person.
Two see 7- 8 Foot Creature on dead end road
Two companions stopped on an unused dead-end road late at night. While one waited in the truck with the high beams on, a tall brown man-shaped animal appeared in the light. It stood still for about a minute, made a grunt sound, then turned and walked away with an unusual swaggering gait. The pair left the area in reverse, frightened by what they saw.

The witness and a relative were waiting in dense brush while bugling for elk when they heard approaching knocking, rustling and vocal sounds and noticed a strong unpleasant odor. They left the hiding spot as crashing sounds followed them uphill. Other members of the hunting party later said they had seen a figure walking on the hill where the pair had not been. The group later returned to the site and found unusual scat.

The witness was archery hunting from a ground blind near a hog wallow when he heard close grunting and breathing that he could not see. After the sounds stopped he inspected the area and found very large scat and large deep tracks leading to and away from the scat. He first assumed hogs and then a very large bear made the sign, but later judged the scat too large for a Florida black bear.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. Neither reported seeing anything.

The witness hiked to a deserted mine on a mountain in the afternoon and encountered an upright hair-covered female creature at close range. The creature approached, squatted to strip and eat leaves, noticed the witness, vocalized, and walked away into timber, later appearing briefly on a distant ridge. The witness considered shooting it for science but refrained, then examined droppings and a bedding spot.
Vocalization near Orleans, California
New owners of an abandoned property began hearing screams nightly and having trash bags taken from the porch and sorted in a bush by color and type. The female resident reported dark hairy figures throwing twigs, candy bait disappearing from rat traps, and large grass impressions. The guest saw the trackway and droppings and set a camcorder that allegedly captured the theft before his notes and tapes were stolen in a break-in.

The witness returned with a friend and camped, heard footsteps by the tent at night, then walked alone across the creek on a foggy morning. He found a footprint, droppings and a dead smell, listened to heavy breathing behind a thicket for hours, heard a vocalization and a stick hitting a tree, then saw a head peering from behind a large pine. He viewed it through his rifle scope, saw teeth, then walked toward the trail as it left on two legs, and it paralleled him back toward camp.
