Man hunting deer finds unusual feces and hears animal

While hunting deer alone in the morning, the witness heard repeated sounds like logs or poles being thrown, then found a tree with bark removed, a large packed bed, a human-like track, and unfamiliar scat. After glimpsing brown fur duck behind a log, the witness heard an extremely loud low roar-like yell from behind with crashing, then heard crashing and throwing sounds staying out of sight while leaving for about 200 yards. No full animal was clearly seen.

Unfamiliar gray-tan feces with white marbled flecks, fine-grained material only.
Measurements: from 1.25" to 2.25" in diameter
Witness took disposable-camera photos of the first feces found.
White fir with exact oval bark piece missing, sap untouched, single gouge above scar.
Measurements: approx. 24 " on base
Circle of willow bushes containing stacked dead logs, plus large packed bed and worn path.
Measurements: approx. 60 feet in diameter
An investigator visited the area days later, located the roads, walked around, and could not relocate the tree or willow structure.
