Around 3 a.m. on a cold clear night during Christmas season, the witness got up for a drink and looked out the back-door window toward a lit road. He watched a tall, hairy, upright figure with long arms climb a steep bank, grip a bridge rail, cross the two-lane road in one stride, and disappear down the opposite bank. The observation lasted about five seconds under a street light.

The witness and a companion were sitting in a parked car at night near a creek when wildlife sounds stopped and bipedal footsteps approached. The witness attempted to drive away and briefly saw a broad-shouldered brownish-black animal moving on two legs into the creek. The pair left to get help and later returned with others.

The witness was deer hunting alone on a snowy mountaintop where he planned to spend the night. He followed large human-like tracks in deep snow and found they were bare footprints with clear toes. A much larger similar animal then approached, touched the smaller one, and stared at the witness while breathing heavily, before the two walked uphill. A family driving across Nevada early in the morning encountered a strange object that approached their station wagon and flew above the road. After a tire blowout, mist, humming and slowed perception, they stopped and hid in brush where a saucer landed and three floating beings took the two children aboard. The parents sought help at a military gate while the children were found the next morning on the test range and later described examinations, pills, a calming ribbon and a map.

The witness was home watching a baseball game when a strange noise from the back porch prompted investigation with a pistol. The witness reported seeing a large dark upright shadow-like figure running toward the woods, firing shots, then seeing it again near an old stable and firing again without hitting it. Afterwards the witness found a porch freezer broken into with frozen food scattered, plus white hairs and ground impressions.

The witness's brother was driving a tractor home late at night when he noticed two large hair-covered figures walking parallel to the road along a fence line. He described the taller one as about seven to eight feet tall, bulky with long swinging arms, and watched them continue along the timber. After noticing droppings in the road, they found a trail of large bare human-like footprints with five toes leading up a bank. The tracks ran from the creek across sandy soil toward rocky brush and were described as about 17 inches long and 10 inches wide. In February 1977 five youths camped in two VW buses at a remote, densely forested campground in the Trinity Alps. On two consecutive nights around 10:30 p.m., something rushed down the steep hill behind camp and violently rocked the bus the witness slept in. The first morning packs were found strewn and torn open; the second night a large boulder was found wedged behind the bus tire and the other bus had shifted about five feet toward the river. The group reported seeing nothing because windows were iced over, noting only hillside skid marks, rushing noises, and a brief strong odor before leaving early.

A family camping at Sunrise Beach heard branch-breaking sounds overnight and the next morning found a very large footprint in a dried creek bed. The father also reported seeing it cross the road ahead while lifting a wire out of its way, and the family quickly left the area.

Four college geology students camping at night heard howling from a canyon and then saw the outline of a huge bipedal animal on the road in moon and campfire light. When the animal approached, one student fired a rifle several times, after which it crossed the road and moved noisily up the opposite slope through brush. A responding deputy examined the area the next day and reported indistinct impressions, small pushed-over trees and long uphill strides, but no blood or fur.

The witness returned at dusk to check catfish lines on a river on a relative's land after hunting. After hearing loud breathing and smelling a strong odor, the witness saw a roughly six-foot wet fur-covered figure about ten feet away with river scum on its side, which stood still. The witness fled immediately, returned with a relative the next morning to find no tracks but estimate height from a nearby branch, and has since avoided the area.

Overnight at a cabin, the wife noticed a strong odor, heard a metallic bang on the back porch and crunching footsteps moving toward the driveway. She woke her husband, who went outside with a flashlight and found a strong smell and large man-like footprints where frozen food stored under a wash tub had been disturbed.
