Howl in Washington (2004)

The guest hiked in to fish two small lakes and camped alone near the lower lake. After hearing a faint distant howl at dusk, the guest was awakened late at night by a very loud scream near camp, followed by unusual owl calls and distant stomping that faded away. The guest watched from the tent with a flashlight, packed up before dawn, and left at first light without finding tracks.

The witness and his teenage son were archery hunting and camping at a remote lake. Around 1 a.m. they were awakened by loud prolonged screams very close to their tent and heard something bipedal walk around them. They stayed awake the rest of the night. In the morning they found the only other camper's tent 200 yards away was gone.

The witness went outside with a dog in the early morning after hearing a gunshot nearby. The witness then heard movement through trees, saw limbs shaking, and heard a loud high-pitched scream. Looking up toward a tree, the witness saw large eyes on a completely black subject.

Sasquatch whistles at deer hunter

While deer hunting at sunset, the witness stood on a stump and heard a loud whistling sound with swirling pitch from a hill to the right. About 75 yards away he saw a dark upright figure about 6-7 feet tall facing him that stayed motionless for 15-30 seconds. He then climbed down and walked back to his truck without being followed.

Family describes possible rock throwing while fishing in Lake Superior Provincial Park

The witness, his wife, and their infant son walked to a fishing pool along a brushy creek after noticing a strong odor. While the witness fished, his wife heard a rock land beside her on a gravel bar, followed by cracking noises like branches breaking underfoot in the forest behind them. The witness threw rocks toward the sounds thinking it was a bear, but the noises continued, so the family packed up and left without further incident.

The witness and a companion were bowhunting about 200 yards apart near dark when both heard loud primal screaming from about 100 yards away. Each feared the other was being attacked and ran toward the other, then found neither had made the sounds. They left the area immediately and the witness says he has not returned.

Man working with wrecker has late night encounter in Tennessee woods

Late at night the eyewitness went outside to work on a trailer and used a flashlight to check a noise. The light reflected off eyes on a nearby bank, revealing a large hair-covered human-like creature squatting a short distance away. The creature turned its head away from the light, and the eyewitness went back inside to call a relative. When the door was reopened, the creature was heard retreating through the woods while vocalizing.

While walking dog, man has early evening encounter not far from Canadian River

The witness was walking with a dog on a dirt road in the early evening when the dog became agitated and aggressive. The witness heard grunting and movement in nearby woods, then saw a large hair-covered biped rise from behind a fallen tree and retreat into the woods. The dog chased the creature while the witness ran home, and the dog returned later unharmed. A strong road-kill-like odor was noted around the time of the sighting.

While camping alone during an archery hunt, the witness was awake in the tent around 4 a.m. listening for elk. A low growl was heard from very close, followed by a loud scraping sound and a thud/stomp from trees 2-3 feet from the tent. The witness made noise and went outside yelling with an axe but heard nothing further and saw nothing.

Stranded motorists have sighting

The witness and a companion were walking toward a relative's home near the hills after their car broke down. They heard a whistling noise, then a howl-like sound, then a noise in nearby bushes which they went to investigate. A large figure appeared directly in front of them, and they ran while it chased them about 400 yards from the initial spot.

Hunter hears morning vocalization and has evening sighting north of Diamond Lake

The witness was elk hunting with a companion in the evening near a pickup. After hearing loud movement coming downhill, the witness briefly saw a bipedal figure running along a ridge through burned trees, then heard loud screams. The companion also heard the screams over the radio and in person as they met to discuss it.

The witness explored a clearcut in Coos County Forest looking for hiking routes and found a bare footprint larger than his boot with visible toes. After rain washed the area, he returned and found additional larger and smaller impressions with a roughly six-foot stride, and later found similar long impressions on harder ground nearby. On a return visit he also heard repeated short whistle-like sounds receding from the creek area but saw no source.

While picnicking in early evening, a couple has sighting at Salt Fork State Park

A couple having a picnic hiked a short distance into the woods with their dog when they heard loud howling noises that seemed to move parallel to them. They then watched a nearly 8-foot-tall dark figure looking at them for about 10 seconds before it walked upright away deeper into the woods. After returning to their picnic area they heard very loud vocalizations again nearby, believed it had followed them, and ran for their vehicle.

Two neighbors hear mournful screams from nearby Nason Ridge

Last summer the witness was in bed at a cabin bordering dense national forest when she heard prolonged yelling from a ridge behind the house, estimated at about a half-mile away. The mournful calls lasted 2-4 seconds each with brief pauses and continued for about an hour, which frightened her. She did not see the source and reported nothing else unusual.

The witness was driving on private land at dusk after plowing fields when a large black hairy human-like creature crossed the road less than 20 feet ahead, moving from the river side while maintaining eye contact. It continued into thick woods where the witness could hear it moving. The witness concluded it had made large footprints he had found by the river earlier that summer.

Whoops heard by couple

The witness and a companion pulled off on a dirt road during a drive to let their dogs out. After about ten minutes they heard a single deep whooing sound from a few hundred yards away and looked toward it. The companion became scared, they put the dogs in the car and left after hearing it once.

Teens hear bipedal footsteps, smell strong odor while camping

The witness and a friend were staying in a camper at night when they heard loud sounds from the woods that seemed to walk on two feet and approach, accompanied by a strange smell. They turned off the lights and listened as the sound changed to digging, then the witness sang loudly and the source sounded like it ran away on two legs. Later that night they heard the same walking and digging sounds again while reading. They never saw the source but concluded it was a bigfoot rather than a bear or person.

The witness was on a multi-day camping and fishing trip with companions in a remote river area. While moving downstream, he found several large tracks on a sand bar near a log jam that he described as larger than his own foot. Shortly after, while returning to the trail to tell his companion, he heard three loud thudding sounds likened to stomping, became frightened, and later avoided camping so far out.

A group camping at a remote lakeside beach camp was sitting around the fire around 11 p.m. when they all heard an eerie, tune-like whistling from the pitch-dark woods. They moved out of the fire glare to look and shone a light toward the sound, after which it stopped with no source found. The witness's dog showed no reaction, and no further activity occurred that night.

Man has close encounter very near the Grand River State Game Preserve

The witness was exploring woods in the morning after hearing activity in the brush and climbed a small knoll for a better view. At close range he saw a creature kneeling on one knee that stood and stared at him before walking into dense woods and looking back once. He attempted to follow with an audio recorder but only heard uncertain sounds in the brush and eventually lost his pack and left as darkness approached.
