The witness was camping with uncles at Fay Lake while doing slash piling work. One evening after dinner the witness heard a noise on the hill behind camp and saw a large figure near the range teepee. After the witness woke the others, the dogs advanced partway toward the figure, then cowered and retreated, and the figure walked off into the timber.

Three loggers working with a crane were said to have been watched by a Bigfoot, with one logger seeing it first and all three seeing it together the next day as it walked quickly away. A relative of one of the loggers later wrote to dispute the account, saying that logger had only seen something moving through brush the size of a large dog or larger and describing another of the men as known for telling tall tales for fun.
