Man recalls a childhood sighting of a creature picking up roadkilled rabbit

The witness was riding in the back seat of a family car on a highway near a cement plant outside Buffalo, Iowa when a dark figure was seen in the middle of the road. The driver slowed and then swerved around the figure, which appeared bent over picking up something, possibly a dead animal, from the roadway. The witness got only a brief view while the two adult occupants observed it more closely and later described a very tall, dark, furry human-like figure estimated to stand 7-8 feet tall.
