Kayakers report camp intimidation all night long on Lower Buffalo River
Two campers floating and fishing the Lower Buffalo River heard loud monkey-like vocalizations from the bank and later camped on a gravel bar. Through the night they reported repeated wood knocks, yells, chatter, whistles, a tree snap, and cantaloupe-sized rocks landing in the river from the ridge across from camp. They lit the camp, kept fire watch in shifts, and at dawn packed and paddled out after a final rock fell in front of them.

The witness and companions were elk hunting and hiking up Spencer Butte on a rainy morning when two of them heard a distant yowl. At the top the witness found an alder shaking without wind and heard something moving away. Shortly after the witness found a large left-foot print with distinct toes in mud and gravel and photographed it.

Over about four years the household noticed odd sounds, smells and disturbances around their wooded Texas property. They heard voice-like calls, hoots, growls and repeated wood knocks, found scat, stripped and snapped trees, and missing bait. The witness was cleaning and preparing an auction site in the mountains when large barefoot tracks were found that dwarfed the witness's own foot. A few days later around midday a massive dark bipedal figure was seen leaning from behind a tree, was photographed, then left with heavy steps and a foul smell as the phone camera failed. That evening and the next night loud echoing vocalizations and loud bird-like whistles were heard while deer disappeared and the woods went silent.

Later the same day the pair hiked deep into the forest, first noting twisted broken branches pointed toward the trail. On a thicker, darker return trail they heard bipedal footsteps on both sides, a whistle, a deep vocal sound, and smelled a foul odor while the woods stayed silent. After reaching a logging clearing with empty cabins, they turned to see the back of a tall dark-haired biped before hurrying to a paved road where workers directed them out.

The witness reports nearly a year of interaction at a rural home property where food left in a tree was taken, rocks were tossed near family members, vocalizations and a strong odor were noted, and a large hairy figure was partly seen beside a tree. The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.
Family has frequent visitors at their home near Ocean Park
The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. An investigator visited the densely brushed property, observed extensive trails and shelter-like spots, and interviewed the household about four to five individuals of different sizes.

After driving to a more open area across a shallow creek, the witness found two very large barefoot-like footprints that seemed too large and out of place to be human.

The witness visited a pine forest site three times in the early morning. On the first visit he heard heavy footsteps retreating, smelled a skunk-like odor, and saw a rock thrown into water. On later visits he heard loud repeated calls and low moans, heard footsteps approach to within about 15 feet without seeing the source, had a large stick thrown near him, left food and recorded vocalizations, and noted indistinct footprints and large broken trees.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

After two relatives reported a roadside figure, the witness joined them and an uncle in a van to spotlight nearby wheat fields the same night. They watched an apelike figure first on all fours that then sat for several minutes before standing on two legs, with two additional sets of eyeshine behind it. The group left to contact authorities, later noted a strong urine-like odor, received a distant bellowing reply to an imitated howl, and searched with a game warden until morning.

No full animal was clearly seen.

While making the cast, nearby bushes rustled violently and the top of a small tree snapped off and fell near the road, followed by several whinny-like vocalizations from the woods. Days later the witness believed an outline of a figure appeared in one photo and reported being followed on later visits to check for more prints.

The witness and a companion camped in Wayne National Forest over a holiday weekend. After mimicking animal sounds in the evening, the witness stayed awake through the night hearing crashes, footsteps, grunts and mimicking speech, and saw eye shine high off the ground. In the morning the pair found a snapped tree, strong odor, widely spaced ground marks and a five-toed partial print, which the witness attributed to a large visitor.
Odor in Michigan (1977)
The guest relayed his father's account of a night when the family was home while the grandfather was away hauling freight. After a foul odor and prolonged barking by the guard dog, a long loud vocalization was heard, the dog was apparently dragged from under the chicken-coop camper, and three household members separately reported red eyes staring through windows. By morning the dog was dead and mutilated, all chickens were gone with feathers and footprints scattered, and the coop hatch had been opened from underneath.

While driving an old forestry road the witness felt uneasy and stopped after spotting footprints up the middle of the clay road. He entered dense regrowth with a bush knife, camera and GPS after hearing a monkey-like noise, smelling a strong urine-like animal odor, and sensing being watched. The unseen animal crashed away through bamboo and he returned to the car.
