The witness and companions were elk hunting and hiking up Spencer Butte on a rainy morning when two of them heard a distant yowl. At the top the witness found an alder shaking without wind and heard something moving away. Shortly after the witness found a large left-foot print with distinct toes in mud and gravel and photographed it.

Left foot print with all toe outlines in mud and gravel off trail, much larger than witness foot
Measurements: about 16 or 17 long vs witness size 12, 1 1/2 inches wider at ball, about 3/4 inch deep
Phone photo of track described as quite clear showing instep and sloping toes with no claw marks
