The witness was riding an ATV with a passenger on a wide trail in a national forest when a hair-covered upright figure appeared ahead in the open. The figure turned and ran upright into dense woods and was not seen again, though shaking limbs and brush marked where it entered. The passenger did not see the figure.

The teenage guest left home upset and sat alone in the middle of a dark street at the edge of fields. A possum ran toward him, then he heard a very loud deep growl that vibrated in his chest. He ran home and found much more time had passed than he perceived.

The witness was deer hunting alone in the evening while sitting on the ground against a tree. He heard non-hooved footsteps moving in brush behind him, followed by a very loud sustained scream-howl from very close range. He readied his rifle and listened as it moved away deeper into brush, then left the area without finishing the hunt.

Two occupants of a truck on Highway 131 near Brackettville saw a large hairy creature cross the road about 300 yards ahead in the morning. When they reached the spot the creature was gone, but they found a patch of long brown hair on a barbed-wire fence. The witness later heard from a relative that local ranchers had reported similar sightings in the area.

The witness was hunting squirrels in a wooded clearing when a tall, dark, hairy figure appeared about 15 feet away. The two reportedly stared at each other for about ten seconds before the witness cocked a shotgun and the figure quickly turned and left into dense foliage. The witness was driving alone in the morning when a large dark hairy biped was seen on the right side of the road. The creature was observed briefly from the side as it walked into tall cattails beside the road. As the witness passed, the vegetation was seen moving violently but the creature was no longer visible.

The witness arrived with a companion at a house after a Christmas party and heard an odd duck-like sound. The companion stopped while the witness kept walking toward the sound. Two drivers at a nearby intersection reported something huge walking between their trucks toward the witness, then running away so fast it outpaced a truck down an alley.

During an evening hunt the witness and a relative followed the blood trail of a wounded deer. The trail grew faint and straight over obstacles, leading them to infer the deer was being carried. From across a clearing they heard an extremely loud roaring howl, answering growls and whoop-like replies, plus heavy footsteps on a fire lane mistaken for the witness. They never saw the source and later searches found no carcass or sign.

After his stepfather died, the witness returned to the family land in East Texas to look for trees where money and papers had been hidden. Near the area of a childhood sighting he smelled the same strong pungent odor and heard heavy, widely spaced footsteps moving through overgrown brush. He froze and backed away as the steps receded, feeling the impacts and hearing vegetation being broken aside, sensing other watchers but no aggression and feeling the creature remembered him.

She turned and saw a tall black hairy block-built figure staring at her for a few seconds before it stepped sideways into dense forest.
