The driver reported seeing both figures cross while the passenger saw the second one as it entered the woods. The witness was driving east with a companion on a private dirt road in daylight when she noticed a dark, shaggy shape behind a fence near Long Creek. She described it as crouched or standing motionless, with a pointed head and broad shoulders, about three feet taller than the fence, and believed it was trying to remain unseen. Four people driving two jeeps on the inner perimeter road of Hopkins Prairie stopped when a large creature appeared about 100 to 150 yards away at the edge of a campground. They watched it walk around a small area with long arms swaying at its sides before it turned and walked into the campground and disappeared. They then went to the spot and found a footprint in wet ground and flattened grass with a stride too wide for a relative to match.

In 2014 the guest and a neighbor were handgun hunting at a dead-end road by a fence when they found large human-like footprints. They counted seven alternating tracks about one and a half times the guest's boot, each showing a small extra toe on the outside curling forward. They avoided the palmetto thicket, kept the find secret, and the neighbor died the next day after asking not to be thought crazy.

A couple on a day trip to a lake house noticed an unusually large footprint in marshy mud beside the dock. They left the dock for a closer look and described a very deep right footprint about 11-12 inches long and 5 inches wide with well-formed toes, heading toward the lake. One witness found his own foot barely sank when trying to recreate the depth, and the pair had no camera and found the print gone on return.

The vehicle passed within a few feet of the creature, then they turned around to look again. The creature had left the roadside and left a trail of disturbed vegetation and indistinct footprints. They described its size, build, hair, and facial features in detail.

Two companions hiking in Apalachicola National Forest stopped at a shallow brook to cool off. After leaving the water they heard rocks colliding and sticks breaking and went to investigate. They glimpsed an ape-like biped charging away through thick brush, breaking limbs and leaving a foul odor. Afterwards they noted disturbed rocks and a partial heel print that later dried out and was not photographed.

The witness was hiking with a companion when they found two sets of unusual tracks about a mile apart. One set showed an abducted ape-like toe, while the other showed unusually splayed toe prints unlike a human print. Photos of the tracks were later shared with an investigator for review.
