In 2014 the guest and a neighbor were handgun hunting at a dead-end road by a fence when they found large human-like footprints. They counted seven alternating tracks about one and a half times the guest's boot, each showing a small extra toe on the outside curling forward. They avoided the palmetto thicket, kept the find secret, and the neighbor died the next day after asking not to be thought crazy.
