The witness and a relative were bow hunting in a burned area of national forest in the early afternoon. After parking, the witness walked a short distance into the woods and found 8 to 12 large human-like footprints. They examined the tracks for about 30 minutes without seeing a creature or hearing unusual sounds, then left the area.

The guest and his girlfriend camped on a secluded Oregon beach in August 1995. Over about half an hour they watched a tall black figure pace the beach, then approach to close range where hair, massive shoulders, long arms and a gliding walk became clear. Frightened, they fled to their car, sought help at a nearby RV camp, and the next morning photographed large footprints in the sand. The guest later shared the photos with researchers and returned the next year to trace a worn trail into the forest.

While fishing at a beaver pond east of Gates, the witness found large four-toed tracks in mud that led into the water and looped back toward shore but could not be followed through brush. The next day the witness returned with a relative and plaster, confirmed the tracks were about 18 inches long and very deep, made a cast, and found a partially eaten beaver in the brush in the direction the tracks had headed. No creature was seen.

Four people visiting the beach at night built a campfire in the sand. The witness noticed very large, very deep footprints with a long stride they had to leap between. They followed the prints up a five-foot embankment where the prints disappeared. No creature was seen.

The second guest says in the mid-1990s while on an eight-night solo hike in southern Oregon he camped at a ridge divide and found a large bare footprint and smeared scuffle-like prints. After dark something black moved in an amphitheater about 75 to 100 feet away, drank at a pond for a minute or more on all fours, then circled his camp bipedally and stared at him with icy gray eyes before leaving. He did not use his flashlight and felt the being warned him not to.

The witness returned the next day with two companions and a camera to photograph the structure. They then found large footprints on a nearby game trail, felt watched, and left the area.

Three hunters spread out in a draw heard a prolonged moaning-howling sound likened to a weak yell for help, with two of them also hearing a loud pop nearby. After waiting about 15 minutes they inspected the area and found a matted grass circle and large footprints leading away.

They were followed for hours by something screaming, breathing heavily, breaking branches and circling on two legs, forcing them to shelter in a road grader. After it left they found large human-like tracks with toes crossing a creek and in the woods, then abandoned the climb and skied out.

The dog ran ahead then retreated in distress, while the figure paused, crouched, approached closer, then sprinted to cover. Later from concealment it gave two loud screams, and next morning the witness found a line of large forefoot prints.

Around 2 a.m. on a fall night in 1978, the witness and a relative went to the corral to check on panicked horses, suspecting a bear. They heard something crashing away into brush and found a corral-post tree snapped over with large human-like footprints around its base. They concluded the prints were not from a bear and later wiped them out while telling other family members it was a bear.
