Bear hunter unnerved by thrashing in the bushes by unseen animal near Verlot
The witness was bear hunting with two family members near Coal Lake and stopped to examine scat in the road. After taking a rifle from the truck, the witness heard thrashing in the brush below the road that appeared to parallel movement along the road. The source could not be seen, and the witness left feeling uneasy and frightened.
Man hunting deer finds unusual feces and hears animal
While hunting deer alone in the morning, the witness heard repeated sounds like logs or poles being thrown, then found a tree with bark removed, a large packed bed, a human-like track, and unfamiliar scat. After glimpsing brown fur duck behind a log, the witness heard an extremely loud low roar-like yell from behind with crashing, then heard crashing and throwing sounds staying out of sight while leaving for about 200 yards. No full animal was clearly seen.

The witness was hunting elk along a ridge trail and noting elk, coyote, cougar and deer sign. About a mile from a spur road, just off the trail behind a small tree, the witness found an unusually large dark tubular scat that did not match known animals. The witness examined its size, color and contents with a stick and suggested it could possibly have come from a large primate-like animal.
Family finds track and scat pile while hiking southeast of Mt. St. Helens
The witness and relatives stopped at a meadow while fishing and scouting for elk sign. The witness found three large fresh scats of unrecognized plant-based material and a large humanlike footprint beside one scat. The cousin and two teenagers also viewed the track, photos were taken and the scats were collected for later examination.
Man and his children find large barefoot tracks in snow
The witness took his children sledding along a forest service road, towing a sled behind his truck. After noticing droppings in the road, they found a trail of large bare human-like footprints with five toes leading up a bank. The witness compared his booted foot and stride to the prints, noting a much longer step and deeper impressions, then left because it was getting late and later reported the find to the sheriff's office.
Unidentified sound near North Washougal, Washington
Around 6 a.m. the witness heard a huge crash, snap and thumping sounds near his apple orchard. He left and later searched the area, finding a wide boxy footprint with toe prints and additional prints. His wife later found four apple-smelling scat piles in a row.
Missing Cattle and large footprints found
Two brothers operating a cattle ranch reported losing 300-400 lb calves without trace each May through early July over three to four years, and noted cattle panicking at their approach from a distance. In the third year they found a freshly killed calf with its neck broken, no teeth or claw marks, and a deep parallel-sided bruise, which a vet and others examined. Three sets of large footprints and unknown feces containing smashed bone were also reported.

A few days later the witness found an area of trampled tall grass with a large dark feces pile in the backyard that did not resemble known local animal scat.
