Early in the morning the witness took the dog out to the end of the driveway before work. The dog alerted toward the treeline, then the witness heard a loud howl and wood-on-wood sounds very close and glimpsed a figure by a tree. After going back inside and leaving again, the witness heard footsteps in the dark and saw a huge dark upright figure moving along the fence and driveway by a pond, later noticing a foul odor and disturbed leaves in the area.
Turkey hunter has tense early morning sighting near Shimek State Forest
The witness was turkey hunting at dawn on a wet, still morning when he heard a rhythmic sound like footsteps approaching up a valley. A tall upright creature came into view about 50 yards away, stopped, stared at him, and crouched after he clicked off his shotgun safety before continuing on and disappearing. He did not shoot, then ran back to his truck. He later described a foul smell lingering after the encounter.

The witness walked to a railroad crossing late at night and heard loud screams and thrashing in nearby woods. Rocks landed around the witness, including one larger rock seen coming through the trees, and the witness threw a rock back before leaving. Screaming was heard continuing up the mountain as the witness returned to the main road. Broken trees were also noticed near the site.

About two weeks before reporting, the witness was walking along Highway 17 at night to and from a store. On the return trip beside a wooded creek, something moved through the brush and seemed to follow, stopping when the witness stopped. In a partially lit spot at the woods edge the witness saw a reddish, long-haired, ape-like creature squatting with its long arms forward.

Four family members were talking on the back porch of a home at night when they heard an extremely loud scream from woods a few hundred yards away. The initial scream was answered by a second similar call from farther down the road, with calls going back and forth several times. The witness, who grew up in the country, said he had never heard anything like it and did not believe it was a mule or donkey.

The witness was driving along a highway beside a river with a companion when he first mistook an animal on an overhanging tree or log for a bear. Looking back, he claimed to see a large ape-like creature crouched over the water with an arm extended toward the river as if trying to catch a fish. He said he clearly saw human-like facial features and was certain it was not a bear.

The witness stopped along a one-lane road to let dogs out and glimpsed two dark figures crossing the road quickly at a curve, seeing only their upper halves. The figures disappeared around the turn and were not seen again despite visibility of the road beyond. About an hour later the witness returned and found a slide mark and a possible ball-and-toe impression on the muddy bank where the figures had crossed. The witness first took them for hooded people but later considered them possibly bigfoots due to their appearance, upright bipedal movement, and lack of a trail.

Four people on two four-wheelers stopped on railroad tracks at night to watch a distant light. While stationary they heard movement in the woods and then had rocks and large limbs or sticks thrown at them from the woods, landing on the tracks and splashing in a nearby ditch. The witness shone a flashlight but never saw what was throwing the objects, and the group left when the objects landed too close.

Two people hiking in the woods heard several wood-on-wood knocks spaced seconds apart. A minute or two later they heard a loud, long drawn-out cry lasting several seconds from within a mile. They stopped and listened briefly, then left the area.

The witness was day-hiking alone when the woods became quiet and he felt watched. He found unusually large, fresh scat centered in the middle of the trail and interpreted it as a possible warning. The witness was walking dogs along the Sammamish River in Marymoor Park in the afternoon. From riverside cover about 50 yards away, a loud sustained screeching-howl was heard, clearly audible over traffic noise, startling the witness and dogs. The sound repeated farther upriver and was followed by wood-on-wood knocking, with additional knocks heard later near an old windmill. The witness searched from the bank and bridge but saw no people or animals.

The witness went turkey hunting alone on a leased property he had hunted for years. After calling turkeys that suddenly fled, he saw a dark figure approach that he first mistook for a person, then recognized as a large hair-covered creature. The creature confronted him vocally, reacted aggressively when he reached for his shotgun, shook a small pine tree, then stared before walking away yelling, after which the witness fled to his vehicle.

They photographed the tracks over three days in March 2007 and reported measurements of about 16 inches long with a roughly six-foot stride. No figure was seen, only the tracks and an apparent light in one distant photo.

The witness and a companion were in a wooded strip mine area in the morning when they heard a loud groaning sound. They went to check for someone hurt and saw a large brown figure standing about six feet tall. The witness yelled to scare it, the figure looked at them and then ran off into the mines. They searched for about an hour without seeing it again.

The witness and a companion were driving home from church at night on Highway 101 when they noticed movement on the right side of the road. They slowed thinking it was a deer, but the animal stood on two legs and crossed the road. They described a very large, wide, hair-covered creature that moved easily and quickly disappeared.
Possible daylight sighting by motorist on a gravel road south of Sturgeon Lake
The witness was driving on a road through pine forest and saw a large black human-shaped figure standing in the road about a quarter-mile ahead. The figure appeared startled, turned, and moved quickly off the east side of the road as the witness descended into a dip. After a brief loss of sight, the figure had vanished despite open visibility into the woods, and subsequent searches found only scattered garbage and no tracks.

The witness was driving home at night in Mansfield when headlights revealed a small black-haired biped. The creature ran across the two-lane road upright on two legs with arms swinging, crossing in a few strides. The witness estimated it at 4 to 5 feet tall and 150 to 200 pounds and said it did not match any known animal like bear, coyote, or fox.

The witness stepped outside the home on consecutive February nights and noticed a strong wet-fur odor, progressive dog barking followed by eerie high-pitched calls from across the river, and repeated knocking sounds like wood impacts. The witness and companions were riding off-road vehicles on a forest trail in early afternoon. The witness watched a dark single-colored upright figure across a creek for under a minute before it took two long smooth strides into dense woods to the east. After later discussion a companion reported simultaneously watching a second similar figure that left the trail to the west. No tracks were sought at the time because both initially assumed the figures were people.

On Feb. 1, 2007 while driving on Highway 60 past Vernon, the witness saw a bipedal creature running toward the road. It placed a hand on a fence T-post, vaulted over, crossed the two-lane road in a few strides, and continued into a narrow canyon out of sight. The witness pulled over but remained in the vehicle and did not look for tracks.
