The witness stopped in a swampy area to target shoot and was reloading when he heard noise behind him. He turned and saw an ape-like biped watching from behind a tree a short distance away, which made a deep vocal sound. An upright brown-haired figure walked past the window on the attached deck, visible only from the shoulders to the hips. About 140 yards to the east, the witness watched a tall cinnamon-brown figure pace back and forth for about three to four minutes near a house light before it disappeared. The figure moved smoothly with no head bob and had long shaggy head hair, with lower legs hidden by a rise in ground. After losing sight of it, the witness went inside to wake the spouse.

The sounds stopped whenever they turned to look and included occasional footsteps and snapping limbs. The witness was driving south on Route 11 in daylight when he saw a tall brown bipedal figure crossing the road ahead from the median. The figure took a few long, smooth upright strides over a guardrail and disappeared into the woods near a small overpass over water. The witness said it did not move like a deer and was not a deer or bear.

The witness was riding an ATV uphill with a young relative when a loud thumping sound prompted a look behind. The witness saw a very tall, hairy, human-like creature chasing them while carrying a small log. The witness accelerated into and across a grass field, and as they were leaving the field the creature threw the log toward them but missed. The log was gone when the witness returned the next day.

Late in the evening the witness stepped outside and saw a figure standing in shadow. The figure crossed a lit area in about one and a half steps and entered the woods, with a rotten odor noticed at the time. The witness later described the figure as a tall, muscular, graying-haired figure with long arms.

The witness drove to a friend's rural house at night and while walking to the door heard large bipedal footsteps paralleling him from woods 30-40 yards away. The steps stopped when he stopped and resumed when he walked. He told his friend inside, but the sound was gone when they came back out.

Two brothers parked for a late-night talk on a forest road when heavy footsteps surrounded the car on several sides and powerful growls approached the rear. After repositioning the car in moonlight they saw a dark shape shifting in a tree, heard heavy breathing, and watched a very tall muscular dark creature cross the road and peer from behind a stump. A second slender gray creature leapt across the road, the large one dropped to all fours and left, and the brothers later realized hours had passed.

A semi-truck driver traveling east on Highway 30 through the Des Moines River valley at twilight saw three deer run across the road ahead, followed about 75 yards behind by a tall hairy biped apparently chasing them. The biped crossed the highway ditch and lane in a few long strides. As the truck reached the crossing point, the creature stood at the edge of the tree line about 75 feet off the road watching the truck pass and turning to watch the deer.

The witness was driving slowly along a highway by the river at daybreak to go deer hunting. From the road the witness saw a very large hair-covered figure sitting on a log in the bottoms about 25 to 30 yards away, with a cone-shaped head set low between the shoulders and massive legs. The witness drove to an intersection to turn around, but the figure was gone on return, possibly having moved under a nearby high bank.

The witness was sleeping at home with the bedroom window open when he woke abruptly around 12:30 a.m. He then heard very loud wailing, screaming, laughing and whoop-like yells coming from a field several hundred yards away. In the headlights a very large, very dark, stocky upright figure was seen on the left side of the road, visible from the knees up with very black hair that shone in the lights. The figure quickly stepped off the roadway within a second or two, and the witness did not turn back.
