Around 9:30 p.m. on a rainy night the witness heard miniature horses making noise in the yard and turned on a porch floodlight to look. From about 40 to 50 feet away in pines the witness saw a tall upright figure that looked toward the porch. The figure then turned and walked behind an outbuilding out of the light during a brief 2- to 3-second view.

The witness was driving on Interstate 59 toward Meridian with a relative around 3 a.m. in very heavy rain. A tall hair-covered biped came from the left and moved across the front of the vehicle. The driver slowed and swerved to avoid hitting it within a few feet, and it kept crossing to the east without stopping. Both occupants took the animal to be a bigfoot.

The figure was looking away from the road, and after the driver briefly looked away it had disappeared. He searched the next day but found no tracks because the ground was frozen with no snow.
