Sighting and other observations along the Niobrara River
In fall 1974 the witness was bowhunting and driving along the Niobrara River when he stopped to check a ravine. He saw a tall coal-colored hairy creature about 40 to 50 feet away watching him for about two seconds before it turned and ran south up the ravine on two feet. He stayed parked a few minutes afterward and initially told no one.

The witness and his cousin heard noises outside the house for about 20 minutes and went into the backyard with a flashlight. They saw a tall hair-covered figure standing just beyond a six-foot fence staring at them. After a few seconds they ran back inside frightened. The witness was sleeping at a sandy riverside camp when dogs barked then became frightened and quiet. With eyes kept shut, the witness heard something walking in the water, noticed a strong urine-like odor, and felt something brush their hair during an encounter lasting several minutes. At daybreak, very large foot-like indentations were found in dry and wet sand around the sleeping area, campfire and tent.

Four people sleeping outdoors beside a river were awakened around 2 a.m. by loud screaming from across the river. The source paced the far bank, crossed the river, snapped a fallen log, approached within 10 feet while screaming and giving off a strong odor, then recrossed the river and left up the hill over about 25 minutes. Nothing was seen because it was pitch dark.

The witness was at a summer youth camp at Indian Lake in the mid-1970s. At night around the campfire the group heard loud yells from the direction of the dam that seemed to get closer, and counselors sent everyone to bed. Later in a teepee the witness felt the ground shake with loud booming steps and was held still by a counselor; the camp broke quickly the next morning.
Camper hears screams while camping in Kennebunk, Maine
The witness and a companion camped overnight in a tent in scrub pine after returning from a motorcycle rally. Late at night something approached the tent, producing a strong odor, audible movement, breathing and ground vibration, and a loud scream that continued intermittently before leaving. At daylight the witness found large indistinct impressions in grass and broken ferns leading toward a cliff but no clear tracks.

Five girls were walking in the woods when they heard crashing from across a meadow and hid to watch. They observed a very tall, hairy bipedal figure with long arms approaching, noticing a foul smell. A child playing in tall corn behind the house at dusk heard heavy bipedal footsteps and corn being pushed aside. The corn parted and a very tall, thick dark figure stood within arm's length, emitting a strong musky odor and a heavy sigh or grunt before running around the child and disappearing. The child's mother heard the footsteps and corn breaking but did not see the figure.

The witness was breaking camp for the weekend and walked down a path to smoke, sitting on a rock. After hearing a sound behind, the witness turned to see a large, bulky brown-gray hair-covered figure about twenty feet away downslope at eye level. They locked eyes for a few seconds while the witness noted facial details, then the figure swung around a tree and hurried down a gully making noise as the witness ran up the path.

Next morning the witness found a flattened flowerbed and trellis, a toppled lumber stack, and a tuft of hair of uncertain origin on the fence.

A tall reddish-brown furry biped entered camp, bent over a parked motorcycle and gently touched it with both hands while ignoring the witnesses, then stood and walked away through thick brush. The witnesses waited, fled on the motorcycle, and later returned by car to retrieve their gear.

Two campers sheltering in a tent during a severe nighttime storm heard a heavy bipedal animal circling their camp for about four hours. The animal repeatedly screamed loudly and snapped large branches as it walked, at times coming within about 20 feet, but darkness prevented any visual observation. In the morning they found no tracks or sign on the wet granite surface and hiked out.
Sasquatch sighting in Kentucky (1972)
Guest age 7 and his grandfather saw a tall upright figure standing above the corn at the edge of the field in the evening and went inside. Later that night the guest woke to a strong odor and saw a dark hairy figure filling the bedroom window looking in, while his grandfather held a pistol. The figure moved to the front porch where the grandfather fired a shotgun through the screen door, after which it fled up the road vocalizing with screams and distant whoops.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. Neither reported seeing anything.

The witness, home from school, was standing in woods near a deep ravine when they heard something walking through leaves. They then watched for a few seconds a very large, hairy figure walking upright uphill about 50-100 yards away, with its head obscured by branches. The figure quickly disappeared, and when the witness crossed to the other side they found nothing, noticed complete silence, became frightened, and ran home to tell a relative who did not believe them.

After rumors of a seven-foot figure stalking at night, four or five neighbor brothers lay on a sloped garage to watch. They heard footsteps and something walked up with its head above the garage and stared at them before they jumped off and ran inside.
