Footsteps in Washington (2012)
Two brothers parked for a late-night talk on a forest road when heavy footsteps surrounded the car on several sides and powerful growls approached the rear. After repositioning the car in moonlight they saw a dark shape shifting in a tree, heard heavy breathing, and watched a very tall muscular dark creature cross the road and peer from behind a stump. A second slender gray creature leapt across the road, the large one dropped to all fours and left, and the brothers later realized hours had passed.
Truck driver watches a Bigfoot chase Deer across US-30 west of Boone
A semi-truck driver traveling east on Highway 30 through the Des Moines River valley at twilight saw three deer run across the road ahead, followed about 75 yards behind by a tall hairy biped apparently chasing them. The biped crossed the highway ditch and lane in a few long strides. As the truck reached the crossing point, the creature stood at the edge of the tree line about 75 feet off the road watching the truck pass and turning to watch the deer.

The witness was driving slowly along a highway by the river at daybreak to go deer hunting. From the road the witness saw a very large hair-covered figure sitting on a log in the bottoms about 25 to 30 yards away, with a cone-shaped head set low between the shoulders and massive legs. The witness drove to an intersection to turn around, but the figure was gone on return, possibly having moved under a nearby high bank.

The witness and his older brother went for a drive to get away after family deaths and got turned around on back roads. Something came up to the back of the car, growling repeatedly with heavy breathing like a sick animal. The witness said he saw something he then called a monster and later identified as Sasquatch.

The witness was sleeping at home with the bedroom window open when he woke abruptly around 12:30 a.m. He then heard very loud wailing, screaming, laughing and whoop-like yells coming from a field several hundred yards away. The witness was riding in a car crossing the St. Johns River on Highway 50 in the early evening when she glanced toward the river. She saw a large brown upright figure walking away from the water's edge, taking several large steps with noticeable arm swing. She perceived it as uniformly colored with no visible clothing and much taller than a human, and told her companions about it only after arriving at the restaurant.

The witness was driving west on Highway 54 toward the Kansas state line in early-morning darkness on the way to work. In the headlights a very large, very dark, stocky upright figure was seen on the left side of the road, visible from the knees up with very black hair that shone in the lights. The figure quickly stepped off the roadway within a second or two, and the witness did not turn back.

On the afternoon of October 17, 2012, the witness and a companion were walking on the Appalachian Trail near their rented cabin when they heard a very low, bone-rattling growl lasting a few seconds. The witness returned home from work late at night and noticed a large figure crouched near a deer lick in the yard. He turned on bright lights and walked toward it thinking it was a poacher, then smelled strong body odor and mildew and realized it was not human. The figure stood up and they stared at each other before it left down a game trail into the brush.

Late at night he heard a whistle-like sound, a tree-knock sound, and slow heavy bipedal footsteps approaching and passing his tent, accompanied by a strong unpleasant smell. He shouted at the presence and later woke to tree knocks and varied whooping sounds from multiple directions lasting about 15 minutes, and found no sign in the morning.

Two people were sitting around a campfire in their yard at night when they heard coyotes howling. The coyote howls were then joined by a much lower, deeper and louder howl. The witnesses considered a wolf as a possible source but were frightened and returned to the house without seeing anything.

Two companions on a motorcycle camping trip in the North Rim area were sleeping in separate tents when loud screams woke them about 2:30 a.m. The screams continued for several minutes from an estimated 40 yards away and were followed by the snap of a limb. Neither witness saw the source, and the reporting witness stated the sounds were unlike anything heard in a lifetime of hunting and fishing.

The witness stopped at a T-intersection at dusk and watched a tall, dark, hair-covered biped emerge from woods on the left and walk across the two-lane road into forest on the other side without looking toward her. She was frightened, remained at the sign for a few minutes, and did not take a photo. She did not check for footprints and told only a relative much later.

The witness and his wife were awakened in their bedroom by very loud piercing shrieks coming from the woods directly behind the house. The sounds continued for about five minutes and then stopped abruptly as it began to rain. The witness stated the sounds were unlike any animal he had ever heard.

The witness and a companion were camping overnight in a tent near a lake. Around 2 a.m. the witness awoke to very loud, heavy-sounding bipedal stomping moving through camp with branches breaking, which stopped abruptly when he moved to reach for a knife. He stayed still while feeling watched, then eventually fell back asleep. The companion separately reported hearing loud walking in camp that night, and no tracks or disturbance were found in the morning.

The witness was road-running in the morning when they heard something in the adjacent woods keeping pace with them. The sound slowed, sped up, or stopped with the witness, paused near houses, then resumed in wooded stretches for about a mile. No source was ever seen due to fog and cover, and the witness felt the terrain was too rough to be easily matched by a person.
Possible sighting near University of Illinois Springfield soccer fields
While driving home from school in the afternoon, the witness noticed a tall, brown, hair-covered human-shaped figure standing at the tree line beside soccer fields. The figure was still and was gone when the witness glanced away and back. An investigator later summarized the description as a massive 8-foot-tall animal with very long flowing hair seen from about 150 feet away.

The witness and two companions entered the woods after dark to recover a deer shot earlier from a tree stand. While preparing to photograph the deer, the group heard an extremely loud scream from very close range, followed by the sound of something large crashing away through the woods toward a swamp. They saw nothing when they shone lights into the woods and quickly left with the deer without field-dressing it.
