A tall reddish-brown furry biped entered camp, bent over a parked motorcycle and gently touched it with both hands while ignoring the witnesses, then stood and walked away through thick brush. The witnesses waited, fled on the motorcycle, and later returned by car to retrieve their gear.

A large dark male watched from behind, a juvenile female appeared nearby, and after vocalizations and a tree being thrown down the group left.

A woman walking nearby said she had heard the screams and thought she saw a mountain gorilla across the road. The witness did not consider the sounds to be coyote or cougar.
