The witness, familiar with local wildlife sounds, said it matched no known animal and later compared it to a gorilla roar.

The witness and family were sleeping in a truck camper while archery elk hunting in the Fishlake National Forest. Around 1:30 a.m. something struck the side of the camper twice about 30 minutes apart with great force, rocking the vehicle, opening cabinet doors and leaving a large high dent. The witness did not go outside to look, and in the morning found no fallen limbs or rocks that could explain the impacts.
Hunter hears vocalizations, basketball-sized rocks rolled toward him
The witness was deer hunting alone in the morning when he heard an extremely loud low growling sound from dense cover upslope. He could not see the source even with binoculars, but saw branches shaking about nine to ten feet up and two basketball-sized rocks roll out of the cover toward him. Feeling watched and unnerved, he walked out calmly the way he had come while the sound continued until he rounded a bend in the trail.

At dusk the forest went silent and she saw a large dark bipedal creature across the gorge staring at her. The witness was camping with relatives by a lake and sleeping in a tent. Around 2-3 a.m. the witness was awakened by heavy footsteps outside, something touching the tent, and sounds from the lake. The witness shouted and went outside, after which two unseen presences reportedly ran past the tents and left. A relative in another tent also heard them run past.

The witness, then about 12, was deer hunting with his father, brother and uncles at a mountain camp. Over several nights a loud screaming vocalization was heard around 9 p.m. and the uncles repeatedly chased the source uphill. One uncle confronted a very tall hair-covered biped at close range and fired over its head, while later nights brought a spotlight glimpse of a large dark mass, a small 4-foot figure, answering calls from another ridge, uprooted trees and reddish hair tufts, before the activity moved away.

The witness was hunting alone on a plateau ridge, using hand-made calls to attract elk and coyotes. Something vocalized in the distance and exchanged calls for about half an hour, with what sounded like three individuals approaching to about 30 yards below in cover but never emerging. Feeling uneasy and unsure what they were, the witness ran about a mile back toward the truck and later described the sounds as a mix of chimpanzee, loon and coyote.

He then saw two trees being violently shaken and briefly saw a hairy left arm and shoulder between trees. While scouting with his wife in the afternoon, a reddish-brown creature about 7 to 8 feet tall stepped out about 20 yards away, watched them for about 10 seconds, and was gone when they looked again. That night after snowfall the witness heard something moving around the tent, and the next morning huge tracks were found circling the tent.

The witness and a relative were fishing and camping in a narrow willow canyon at dusk and noticed unusual silence and a feeling of being watched. While sitting by a fire, the companion stared toward the road and the witness then saw a tall dark hairy face peering through willows about 30-40 feet away. The figure then crashed through the creek and willows up the hillside out of sight, after which the pair left hastily.
