Possible protest attack on an elk hunter's camper (vehicle) in Fishlake National Forest

The witness and family were sleeping in a truck camper while archery elk hunting in the Fishlake National Forest. Around 1:30 a.m. something struck the side of the camper twice about 30 minutes apart with great force, rocking the vehicle, opening cabinet doors and leaving a large high dent. The witness did not go outside to look, and in the morning found no fallen limbs or rocks that could explain the impacts.

Large dent high on camper side denting aluminum and breaking underlying wood causing reported $400 damage
Measurements: about 8 inches in diameter about 3 inches deep
An investigator called the witness for well over an hour and obtained a marked location printout.
