A second, louder crash close to camp was followed by a grunt, and the narrator saw a tall gray-furred shape through the tent mesh that fled when lit by a flashlight. Both spent the rest of the night in the truck and left the area the next day.

The figure moved downhill on two legs with long strides and a large upper body, which the driver felt differed from a bear. The driver stopped where the figure left the road and noticed smeared tracks in mud and snow leading downhill but did not follow them. The driver later said he believed the figure was likely a bigfoot.

The partner called the witness to the side of the garage where a tall shape stood motionless in the moonlight. The partner threw a steel pipe at the shape, which did not move, so they assumed it was a tree and went inside. The next morning they found no tree at that spot, but flattened grass and two trails leading through the pasture, and recovered the thrown pipe.

As they drove away, one rider looked back and saw a very large, wide, dark hairy figure leap onto the road, land on all fours, then stand erect and grunt. The figure was silhouetted in bright moonlight, preventing detail of face or hands, and was estimated at about seven feet tall.
