In the headlights the witness saw a tall, thin dark figure cross the road and enter roadside woods, moving in an unfamiliar gliding manner that first caused fear. Another woman in the van confirmed she was watching the same spot and shared the fear reaction, and both later described wonder at seeing something unfamiliar.
