Fisherman finds possible footprints near Grassy Lake (w/photo)

Last spring the witness was fishing in the afternoon and found unusual tracks, which were photographed with size references. The tracks led into an area blocked by two creeks, then turned and went back out. The next day the witness's dog picked up scent at the tracks and then fled back to the car, appearing frightened. Another person fishing in the area also reported seeing the tracks.

While driving north on the highway, the witness and a companion saw a large dark hairy biped moving quickly from under a bridge toward the highway embankment. The witness watched for about 30 to 45 seconds as it took large steps with long arms swinging before reaching bushes by the road. They did not stop out of fear, and the companion reported only a very brief glimpse of a tall dark figure.

Frightening encounter experienced on family property outside Naples

Three people spending the night in a trailer heard distant howling that grew closer and seemed to come from more than one direction, and they called back. Small stones were thrown toward them, and they heard stomping, grunting, knocking, movement in brush close by, and trees breaking. They retreated into a bedroom where screaming, walking, and contact with the outside of the trailer continued for about an hour while one of them looked through window blinds and was left frightened.

The witness and a companion were driving home through a wooded area after a nighttime research outing when an animal ran across the road in front of their car. The witness braked hard and narrowly avoided hitting it. The animal looked toward the car but kept running across the road into the woods without breaking stride. The witness turned back to the spot and checked for sounds, odor, and tracks but found nothing.

The witness was driving home from the store in the early evening when she noticed a white figure squatting by the highway near a creek. She drove toward it for a closer look and stopped about 10 yards away, at which point it stood up, turned slowly, and walked calmly into the woods. She described it as very large, dirty-white and furry, taller than a nearby street sign, and unlike anything she had seen before.

Two people walking up a marshy hollow came to a split in the stream and found a large mud impression beside a rock on the island. The impression was estimated at about 14 inches long and photographed with a boot for scale. The finder was uncertain whether toe-like shapes were real or imagined.

Couple hears a series of "Whoops" while night fishing at Tappan Lake

The witness and his wife were night-fishing with family at Tappan Lake in summer 2010. While walking back toward their van to get another chair, they heard repeated whooping sounds nearby in the dark woods. Unfamiliar with the sound, the witness told his wife it was an owl. His wife later heard the same sound on a television show and became convinced it was not an owl.

The witness was driving in heavy fog behind another car when both vehicles braked hard. A tall black human-like figure ran across the road in a couple of long strides and disappeared into the fog. The witness drove past the spot where it left the road but saw nothing there.

The witness was driving north on US 60 in the early afternoon when he noticed a large upright animal beside the road partly obscured by a pine. He slowed for about half a minute to watch as it shifted to keep the tree between them while still peeking out and appearing to look at him. He drove on because traffic was coming from behind.

The witness was awakened at home in the early morning by very loud, deep screams from very close outside. The sounds shifted toward the woods and continued as back-and-forth exchanges between two sources, including grunts, barks, cries and shorter screams over many minutes. The witness's three dogs cowered by the door rather than chasing, and the sounds eventually receded north into the woods until they stopped.

The witness was at a rural wooded home on a winter afternoon and saw deer running fast through the woods about 75 to 100 yards away. Behind the deer was a much larger brown upright biped that kept pace with them for about 10 seconds. The witness felt the speed, gait and terrain ruled out a person flushing the deer.

The witness reports being at home on their property when a loud howling or screaming sound was heard about 20 times. Dogs in the area reacted strongly and a visiting relative was alarmed and came downstairs. The witness notes having heard the sound before and hopes to record it if it happens again.

The witness was out in fields to check stands and noticed a large unidentified figure by a creek. The witness got a rifle, approached to about 12 feet, and made eye contact after stepping on a twig alerted it. After the witness fired a warning shot, the figure made a throaty groan and left into the forest.

The witness was camping alone overnight and heard repeated strange calls late at night over about 35 minutes that seemed to move closer. The sounds did not match known local animals to the witness. The witness captured part of the sounds on a digital voice recorder and searched the area the next day without finding other campers.

Possible encounter by hunters camping in the Kisatchie National Forest

The witness and a relative were sleeping in a tent at their hunting camp when loud screams woke the witness. After a long silent interval, something on two feet circled the tent, cast a tall shadow and scratched the fabric, then crossed a gravel road into the woods followed by repeated stick-struck sounds. The relative woke briefly and also heard part of the screaming. No tracks were found the next morning.

The witness went outside at night near a creek and heard hooting/howling from trees across the creek, then heard it twice more from inside a yurt. About 30 minutes later the witness used a flashlight to scan the hillside and saw a faint outline duck behind trees. The next morning the witness found a partial footprint leading toward the yurt door and collected hairs from the print and the door.

Late at night at a yurt near a creek, the witness stepped outside and heard loud hooting/howling from across the creek. The sound was heard two more times from inside the yurt, and later the witness saw a faint outline duck behind trees on the hillside. The next morning a partial muddy footprint with hairs was found leading toward the yurt door.

The witness was inside their house when they heard a distant wailing sound that first suggested an emergency vehicle. They went outside into cold, foggy conditions to listen and then heard a high-pitched howl or yell they did not recognize from three years living there, while distant dogs were barking intensely. Feeling unsettled, the witness went back inside and locked the door.

The witness was walking down the driveway to the bus stop in the morning when noticing a grayish-white figure crouched to the side. The figure looked at the witness, then moved in the same direction in a fast long-strided walk as the witness ran. After stopping and checking the treeline, the witness briefly saw its upper torso behind a structure in the brush before it disappeared.
