The witness was driving home from work at night when headlights illuminated a huge hairy figure standing at the road edge. The figure remained stationary while the witness felt frightened and sped past, then saw in the mirror that it was gone. The witness later revisited the rural farm area in daylight and noted only fields and a low hedgerow.

The witness left a cabin on foot to photograph the lake and fall colors. While walking back toward the cabin he heard loud, rhythmic wood-on-wood knocks coming from a wooded, hilly area. The knocks stopped when he stopped to look and resumed briefly when he walked again. He saw no source, noted no odor, and heard no other vocalizations.

The witness reported driving at night and coming within about 20 feet of a very tall upright figure standing in the roadway. The figure reportedly shielded its eyes from the headlights, made eye contact and snarled to show large teeth, then left into a thicket after about a minute. The witness also reported a musk-like odor and missing fingers on one of the figure's hands.

The witness shot a deer at dusk and dragged it toward his truck after dark. On the trail he saw a widely spaced pair of large eyes at about his own height that stayed after he fired a handgun into the ground, then left to the side through dense brush with loud crashing. He smelled a foul musky odor and found pushed-over vegetation where it left, felt watched while field-dressing the deer, and later found part of the carcass dragged about 300 yards.

A bicyclist riding home late at night heard a noise by a dumpster behind a shed and saw a short stocky dark bipedal figure. The figure turned and walked into thin woods toward a cornfield, and the rider fled home to tell a companion. The companion checked the site minutes later but found only a trapped raccoon in the dumpster.

Two companions on an overnight hunting trip were camped on a remote gravel road at night when they saw a large upright figure moving very fast uphill about 300 yards away on a moonlit ridge. They described it as person-like but much larger and faster than a human could move on steep rough terrain. Frightened, they walked back to their vehicle back-to-back with loaded rifles while hearing sounds like stones rolling in the trees, then left for home.

The witness was running late for church on a cold, windy January evening and ran to her car. As she backed out of the driveway past the side yard, she saw a tall black hair-covered figure standing motionless between the garage and house near the west tree line. The creature reportedly stared toward a lead vehicle that braked and swerved, then walked off into a field. The witness and companion were frightened and returned home by a different route.

The witness was hiking alone and sitting on a bluff when he heard heavy thudding sounds like footsteps, followed by rock-clacking sounds from brush about 40-50 yards away. He exchanged rock bangs with the unseen source for about 10-15 minutes, with it mimicking the number of bangs he made. He became frightened as it got dark and returned to camp without seeing the source.

The witness and a companion were sitting outside the companion's house at night when they heard a scream from a nearby swamp. Shortly after they heard a large animal breaking branches in woods on their side of the road. After owls called behind the house, an unseen object coming from the woods landed in the yard behind them.

The witness was asleep at home with the window open when very loud calling woke them shortly after midnight. The calls came in small groups and traveled from north to south along the ridge above the house toward the river before stopping suddenly. The sound was described as louder than a child could produce and unlike a bird, with a distinct lip-and-teeth sound at the end of each call.

The witness was hunting elk with a muzzleloader several miles north of a ski area as snow began to fall. From a small canyon he heard chimp-like huffing and chattering that seemed to come from three individuals on both sides of the ravine. He tried to see the sources as the sounds kept moving ahead with him but saw nothing, then returned to camp as the storm worsened and daylight faded.
