Two campers floating and fishing the Lower Buffalo River heard loud monkey-like vocalizations from the bank and later camped on a gravel bar. Through the night they reported repeated wood knocks, yells, chatter, whistles, a tree snap, and cantaloupe-sized rocks landing in the river from the ridge across from camp. They lit the camp, kept fire watch in shifts, and at dawn packed and paddled out after a final rock fell in front of them.

While separated along irrigation canals and field edges, they heard prolonged loud screaming with gurgling and hooting from about 100 yards away in dark woods. They heard a growl, a distant tree fall, and something running around camp that was too fast to pinpoint on thermal, then found X-shaped tree structures without roots. On later visits team members saw a large dark humanoid with a conical head peek from behind a tree, found broken branches, and heard loud peacock-like bird sounds with nothing visible.

At 4:30 a.m. at a Salt Fork campout, a woman woke to coyotes yipping, went to the outhouse with her father, recorded video for eye shine, then snapped a cell photo in total darkness. The photo showed bright beams through leaves illuminating the ground, though she saw and heard no helicopter or light at the time.
