The witness was deer hunting alone on a snowy mountaintop where he planned to spend the night. He followed large human-like tracks in deep snow and found they were bare footprints with clear toes. Believing he was about to be killed, the witness fired a handgun into its chest at close range; the creature bled from the wound and mouth, stood, and climbed down a bluff toward water, after which the witness left and later found the road closed.
