The witness was hiking with two dogs when he found a low shelter made from fallen trees with woven branches. Inside and around it he reported reddish hair, many large fibrous scat piles, snapped branches, and a single large bare footprint. The witness was driving at night behind another car when both vehicles stopped for a tall, dark, manlike figure crossing the road in the headlights. The figure was described as 8-9 feet tall with very long arms and a strong musk odor that lingered after it left. It reportedly broke the top off a barbed-wire fence post, went over the fence, and disappeared into the woods. The next day the witness found a broken post, bent wire, and broken brush leading into the treeline.

A second, smaller black figure then moved through the same area, shaking vegetation as it ran. The larger figure stopped in thick brush and stared toward the witness at the window for less than a minute before looking toward the dog kennel and walking uphill out of sight. Fruit the witness had discarded in the yard the night before was gone the next day.
