Mother and son experience multiple incidents in the Sautee-Nacoochee Valley

On a cool afternoon in February 2007, the witness and a companion hiked in the woods to look for clues about strange activity. They reported finding large human-like footprints, possible bedding areas, territorial tree markings, and a freshly fallen oak with bark that looked chewed and wet. While leaving the woods they reported being followed by something unseen that produced howls and other vocals, stick-beating sounds, continuing footsteps, and moving vegetation.

Three footprints described as much larger than human but not giant size
Two areas described as looking like something large had bedded down
Trees described as looking like territorial markings seen on websites
Freshly fallen oak by a stream with shredded bark appearing chewed and slimy wet like spit, a sample of which was collected in a baggie and reportedly stayed moist
Independent researchers conducted an initial on-site investigation of the property and surrounding forest.
The follow-up investigator spoke repeatedly with the witness family and visited the property and surrounding forest.
