The figure left quickly while splashing through water, as a nearby cat reacted with alarm and neighboring dogs barked and fled. The witnesses then heard loud imitative barking and cow-like sounds from different directions, followed by faint responses to their own knocks. They went inside and later recounted the events to family and an investigator.
