On November 2, 2013 around 4:45 p.m., the wife was closing the barn doors when she noticed movement downhill. She observed a tall hair-covered creature standing about 110 feet away facing her, which then turned and bounded down the steep slope out of sight. Strides in the leaf litter where it fled were later measured at 6 to 7 feet.

The witness was hiking in a preserve in the morning to photograph wildlife when he heard a noise and saw a large dark figure to his left. He watched it walk upright at a fast, purposeful pace across the trail and into palmettos, then heard it moving away as birds and insects fell silent. He searched for tracks or hair but found none, photographing only the crossing location for scale.

Two relatives found unusually large footprints soon after rain and photographed them. The larger impression was described as about 18 inches long and 6 inches wide with three clear toes and a possible fourth, with smaller tracks alongside. Looking in the rearview mirror, they saw a hairy figure peeking from behind a tree about 60 feet away, watching the car, then moving to a second tree before disappearing from view. About 20 minutes later a cow elk walked through the same area, which the witness used to estimate the figure's height at about six feet.

The witness was backpacking with a relative and a group at an alpine lake and went to explore the shore alone in the evening. She found many barefoot prints of different sizes that were unusually deep in mud and showed what she interpreted as a mid-tarsal break. She tested the mud firmness against her own weight, followed the prints from the water into gravel and rocks, and concluded they were not human.

Two witnesses were on the back deck of a vacation cabin at night with a small leashed dog when they heard a loud grunting/growling sound from bushes about 60 feet away. The dog was alert and barking at the bushes. Frightened, both people went back inside the house.

The guest and his wife heard metallic banging behind the house at night. The guest shone a light and saw bright eyes briefly before retreating. His wife then viewed a figure swaying behind a bush through a thermal monocular and photographed the thermal screen.

Around 1:55 a.m. the witness stepped outside to smoke and heard the chain-link fence rattle and brush breaking. Under a nearby security light she saw a large hairy creature straddling the fence; it turned, made eye contact, then swung its leg back over and dropped into the woods. She woke her daughter and both heard movement and smelled a foul odor, later finding the fence top bent and branches broken.

The witness was night fishing from a dock when an otter nearby suddenly fled. The witness then saw a large grey shape move quickly and silently between cover, followed by a large splash near the dock. Frightened, the witness left immediately and found large four-toed footprints on a return visit the next day.

Two cousins were gold panning and exploring a forested ridge road when one spotted a large hair-covered biped across the valley in a clearing. They watched for at least 20 minutes as it sat upright on a log, stood, looked toward them, turned side to side, took steps, and held an object in one hand. Both describe themselves as experienced hunters and state it was not a bear.

The witness and a relative were night fishing across a creek from a short bluff when they heard crashing coming down the hill. They shone a spotlight and saw a large hairy figure crouched at the shoreline, then heard a second crashing nearby. The first figure entered the creek and stood in deep water up to its rib cage while they watched, after which both people fled without looking back.
Possible activity experienced by campers at a popular campground in the Mount Hood National Forest
The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

The witness and two companions were sitting in a parked vehicle at Eagle Lake late at night with the windows down. After about fifteen to twenty minutes the witness and one companion heard a loud, scream-like howl from woods about fifty yards away. The sound was described as inhuman and very loud, lasting about thirty seconds and heard only once.

The witness was making coffee at about 3 a.m. when she saw widely spaced large yellow eyes looking through a window, with a dark width blocking the outside light and shifting side to side. She backed away and waited in the dark until daylight while a rank skunk-like odor entered the house. After daylight, she and a relative found a strong odor in the yard, vegetation matted and crushed under the window, and squirrel corn missing.

Two people exploring logging roads by jeep stopped to scout a side road on foot. They heard knocking sounds like a stick hitting a tree, then a very loud prolonged cracking like a thick log breaking nearby. They left without seeing any people or vehicles that could explain the noises. A photo taken toward the sounds was later thought to contain something odd but was deemed inconclusive.

In mid-May 2013 at early dusk, the witness stopped on a remote dirt road to photograph horses. After putting the car in gear she saw a large dark bipedal figure leap from a hillside across the road into a ravine in under ten seconds. She drove to the crossing point but saw nothing further and later noted the fence there was bent.

From the car area she heard the same loud vocalization coming from across the lake where she had been and saw the fishermen hurrying across the dam, after which all parties left.

Two girls encountered a tall dark figure at close range in a marshy wooded area near a fence. The figure left quickly while splashing through water, as a nearby cat reacted with alarm and neighboring dogs barked and fled. The witnesses then heard loud imitative barking and cow-like sounds from different directions, followed by faint responses to their own knocks. They went inside and later recounted the events to family and an investigator.
