Two people exploring logging roads by jeep stopped to scout a side road on foot. They heard knocking sounds like a stick hitting a tree, then a very loud prolonged cracking like a thick log breaking nearby. They left without seeing any people or vehicles that could explain the noises. A photo taken toward the sounds was later thought to contain something odd but was deemed inconclusive.

Photo taken toward knocking sounds; witness later noticed odd dark mass, assessed by investigator as inconclusive and possibly a stump or root-ball.
The investigator reported previously recording about 20 yelling-like vocalizations at night in a tree farm area.
An investigator visited the main-event location with the witness and scanned with a thermal camera, hearing no knocks or vocalizations and seeing no heat signatures.
