While driving on dirt roads through planted pines to a hunting stand in daylight, the witness saw a black hairy animal on all fours emerge from the woods. From about 50 feet he watched for about 10 seconds as it loped down the road with an uneven back motion and then disappeared into the woods on the other side. He noted thin legs with longer rear legs, no visible tail or ears, and a head held low, which did not match a bear or loose cow to him.

At noon on a clear day, two men standing on high ground overlooking a pond watched a tall, black hair-covered biped walk through pines behind the pond for about 100 feet. They estimated its height at 8-9 feet using a 4-foot fence for scale and said it walked casually without noticing them. When it should have entered an open clearing it was gone, and a search of the area found no trace.

Four people on two four-wheelers stopped on railroad tracks at night to watch a distant light. While stationary they heard movement in the woods and then had rocks and large limbs or sticks thrown at them from the woods, landing on the tracks and splashing in a nearby ditch. The witness shone a flashlight but never saw what was throwing the objects, and the group left when the objects landed too close.

Late at night the witness and a relative were indoors when they heard monkey-like hooting at the window and noticed vegetation moving outside. The relative went outside with a firearm and saw further movement near the end of the house while the witness heard grunting sounds near another window. The household dog ran to the relative but then whimpered, backed away, and refused to approach the side of the house. After a quiet interval, the two heard only distant noises when they went out again at midnight.

The witness reports walking home alone at night on a rural dirt road when she startled a large creature near a shed. She heard a loud deep breath and grunt and felt the ground shake as the dark, muscular figure rose into a crouched gorilla-like posture about 20 feet away. The figure stared and turned its head to watch her as she moved to the far side of the road and walked quickly home while praying without running.

A relative living in the house came outside and heard the final vocalization and a distant gunshot, and another relative later arrived to find the area empty.

When they left the tent with flashlights they saw large green eyes without visible pupils a short distance away on their path. After verbal warnings shots were fired toward the eyes, which advanced a few steps instead of fleeing, prompting the pair to call for help to leave the woods.

While leaving the woods they reported being followed by something unseen that produced howls and other vocals, stick-beating sounds, continuing footsteps, and moving vegetation.
