The witness and a companion were night fishing when they heard rustling, snapping and thumping approaching from the woods. Something ran across gravel behind them, slapped the side of their parked pickup three times, and shook branches while heavy footsteps were felt. After reaching the truck to leave, they heard a loud, close, high-pitched unearthly scream and drove away quickly.

Four men were driving south late at night towing a loaded travel trailer when a tall dark form ran toward the road on two feet. The car passed in front of it, but the trailer struck it with enough force to lift the trailer off the ground. The occupants stopped, backed up, and inspected the vehicles and roadway but found no body, blood, hair, or damage.

The witness was on a multi-day winter camping trip with her husband in a remote area. One evening she left the camper to collect ice, felt watched, and hurried back. Later that night while sleeping in the overhead camper bed she awoke to the camper being nudged and heard a deep sniffing sound outside at the level of the sleeping area. Her husband slept through it, and no tracks were found because the snow was packed to ice.

Around 10 p.m. on a dark drizzly night in spring 1993, the witness was driving home on a two-lane road near Puget Sound after dropping off a friend. She felt a hard shove to the rear of her car pushing it into the other lane. Looking up she saw a very tall gray hair-covered biped walking upright away into the woods. She drove home terrified and later found no dent or scratch on the car.

Twelve hunters were sleeping in a meadow camp after a day of bow hunting. Around 2 a.m. something heavy ran through the camp emitting a high-pitched female-like scream. The runner shook a truck as it passed and knocked over a full ice chest but was not seen in the dark. No unusual prints were found the next morning.

The witness and family were sleeping in a truck camper while archery elk hunting in the Fishlake National Forest. Around 1:30 a.m. something struck the side of the camper twice about 30 minutes apart with great force, rocking the vehicle, opening cabinet doors and leaving a large high dent. The witness did not go outside to look, and in the morning found no fallen limbs or rocks that could explain the impacts.

The witness was driving toward the beach at dusk when a large hairy creature stood in the road. The car glanced the creature, then the witness stopped and the creature got up, approached, and chased the car, striking the rear. The witness drove away and later found a dented quarter panel with hair, a shattered spoiler, and a lingering foul smell on the car.

During an evening at a deer-hunting camp, the group heard loud bangs on the side of their camper on two occasions but found no one outside. Later that night while around a campfire, all five heard prolonged screaming and moaning sounds coming from across an arroyo toward the foothills. Two members walked toward the sounds but saw nothing, and a search of the area the next day found nothing unusual.

The witness and a companion drove to a picnic area in a forested area at dusk to relax after bowling. While outside the car the witness heard loud heavy strides coming up the hillside, followed by a low growl-like sound, prompting both to get in the car to leave. As they drove away something thumped against the car. Later under bright lights they found large handprints in the dust on the roof, side panel and door.

Three people camped without tents in woods near Traverse City. During the night they heard movement around camp and sounds of something disturbing the vehicle, but waited until daylight to check. In the morning they found ferns flattened in a circle around the camp and very large footprints on a sandy road and by a creek, which the witness believes was a Bigfoot.

The witness and a relative were camping in a remote wooded area when the witness was awakened around 3 a.m. by noises around the truck, including an ice chest being knocked over and a violent impact that rocked the vehicle, followed by a loud piercing scream-like sound. The relative also woke, and in the morning they found the camp in disarray with a dozen eggs missing, the empty carton later found away from camp, and a dent in the truck. No creature was seen and no tracks were found, and the pair stayed up until morning before leaving.

A witness and his son were camping by a horse corral after building deer blinds. Early in the evening they heard two loud low-pitched screams from different directions, then later watched a pair of red eyes about six to seven feet off the ground for about an hour. Later that night something struck the side of their truck-mounted camper hard enough to shake the truck, but they found nothing outside.

Around 5 a.m. something shook the truck violently side to side several times, waking both occupants. They smelled a strong rancid odor, saw nothing in the darkness, and stayed in the cab until daylight before leaving without checking for tracks.
A young man and friends had two consecutive night encounters with an unknown creature
In February 1977 five youths camped in two VW buses at a remote, densely forested campground in the Trinity Alps. On two consecutive nights around 10:30 p.m., something rushed down the steep hill behind camp and violently rocked the bus the witness slept in. The first morning packs were found strewn and torn open; the second night a large boulder was found wedged behind the bus tire and the other bus had shifted about five feet toward the river. The group reported seeing nothing because windows were iced over, noting only hillside skid marks, rushing noises, and a brief strong odor before leaving early.

The witness's brother spent the night alone in a camper parked in the driveway. Around 1:30 a.m. he watched a shadow move across the curtained window and translucent roof, apparently cast by a neighbor's porch light, as something slowly circled the camper while lightly tapping its sides. The next morning the family found fingerprint smudges, a large handprint, and large toeprints in spilled sand.

Early one Saturday morning in 1971 or 1972 the witness was driving south on US 27 when he stopped at a fresh single-car wreck with law enforcement present. He saw a car with a crushed front fender and overheard officers remark that no one could have walked away from such an impact and about a bear moving unusually. He did not see any animal himself but later heard a radio news report saying the driver claimed to have hit a Florida Skunk Ape that officers chased into a thicket.
