She ran to a bridge where the pursuer entered bushes but continued throwing objects, while she heard footsteps, smelled a strong bad odor, and glimpsed only a large dark figure. Footprints were reportedly found in sand the next day.

They jogged most of the way out, leaving around 3-3:30 a.m., and the witness believed deep snow ruled out a prank by a person.

Nothing was ever seen and no tracks were found.

Residents in a Campbell County community reported a large ape-like primate on the loose over several weeks in autumn 2003. One resident reported seeing the animal at close range, noting a strong odor, and said it threw a kitten toward them. Animal control and the sheriff's department investigated and warned residents not to approach the animal.

They heard growls and vegetation shook violently, so they retreated. One set rose vertically and maintained eye contact as the group moved off across a hollow without showing deer traits like a white tail or snort. Shortly after, a heavy object landed near him, which he later interpreted as thrown, followed by guttural vocalizations unlike known wildlife and a skunky odor at a suspected bedding area.

The next morning they found no tree at that spot, but flattened grass and two trails leading through the pasture, and recovered the thrown pipe.

After noticing a foul musty odor, they heard a very loud roar from behind them and fled as a large log flew over their heads.
